Life's journey is not to
arrive at the grave safely
in a well preserved body,
but rather to skid in sideways,
totally worn out, shouting

Nice walk down memory lane. I remember early 1981 while testing drivers licences, we were in front of the Post Offices when Margie approached me. I will never forget her words: "Is julle bedonderd om hier te stop. Sien jy nie die karre agter jou wil verby kom nie?" Not even my Police uniform could convince her that we were busy.

Our various call outs to the bars to remove people. On one occasion, Stoffel Vorster whom was commander at the uniform side and myself had been call out after a person, according to the barman wanted to commit suicide. On our arrival the person, no names mentioned cut himself with a broken glass over his wrist. Stoffel's comment:"Nee man, jy mors ons tyd. Kom saam Polisiestasie toe, ek sal vir jou 'n vuurwapen gee dan doen jy 'n behoorlike job." This person is still alive and is doing well. That was his last attempt.

Richard show photos of the swimming pool. On many occasions we had to remove people there at night. Not all of them wear bathing suits. Some of them were pretty, others not.

We have eight wonderful years in Oranjemund.
