Hi Hennie,

Linda and I are doing well, thanks. Hope you are good too!

We are both retired now and taking it easy. We were getting tired of work so decided to retire early. We are now thinking of moving to sunny southern Spain or Greek islands but need to wait and see what the residency situation is after the UK leaves the European Union next March.

For your phone banking can't you buy a second hand later model phone from ebay or bidorbuy? Kids here in the UK always have to have the latest model so there are loads of one or two year old phones for sale. You can pick up something like a Motorola Moto G2 2nd Gen running Android V6 for less than R400 here.

Oranjemund Bush Telegraph! / Rosh Pinah Accommodation review

Has anyone made use of McMillan's Guesthouse in Rosh Pinah?  I am looking for good overnight accommodation for two couples in July next year.  Is there any other accommodation that can be recommended?

Love this guy seen his HIGH HORSE TOUR in AUSSIE in 2015 sadly he is suffering from Parkinson Disease.
Here are some one liners
“Never trust a man who, when left alone in a room with a tea cosy, doesn’t try it on.” “Marriage is a wonderful invention: then again, so is a bicycle repair kit.” “There are two seasons in Scotland: June and Winter.” “My definition of an intellectual is someone who can listen to the William Tell Overture without thinking of the Lone Ranger.”

“A well-balanced person has a drink in each hand.” “I’m a big fan of the Mars Bar Diet. You don’t eat the Mars bar, you stick it up your arse and let a rottweiler chase you home.”

“Honestly some folk will take offence at anything, I met a bloke with no legs this morning while at the bus stop, all I asked was ‘How are you getting on?’” “I’ve always wanted to go to Switzerland to see what the army does with those wee red knives.”

“Scottish-Americans tell you that if you want to identify tartans, it’s easy – you simply look under the kilt, and if it’s a quarter-pounder, you know it’s a McDonald’s.”
“The great thing about Glasgow is that if there’s a nuclear attack it’ll look exactly the same afterwards.”

when using the bank application to verify I recently got this message from ABSA bank . type of phone Samsung Galaxy S193 . 2014 model . they say that I will not be able to use my phone after December 2018 . see attached picture
Please suggest what one can do  . I just can not afford toe buy new phones every so often   Test2013

I quite understand the frustration with these bloody electronic devices. I have a draw full of them  iPhone iPad's iPod's amazon-kindle and now my
Lumix water proof camera is out of date, as the iPhone I use has better picture qualities, though the iPhone are no good underwater  image031. Also listen to 3MP Ebooks on my iPod that I borrow from the library and that's another tricky operation to down loaded through Itunes then plug in the iPod to the computer and then download it. Its all about how much money they will screw out of you.The keyboard i'm using (HP) is only 13 month old  (out of warranty) and I will have to replace it ANGRY!!!!!!  ThatStinks2

Some phone manufacturers are better than others but typically they only provide updates to the next or next plus one Release of the phone's operating system once the phone has been superceded by a later model. They are not willing to spend the time and money that would be needed to test that the latest Release will work correctly with a phone they are no longer selling (and making money from).

Similarly, some app developers want to use all the latest features in new OS Releases but don't want the cost and effort involved in coding for and supporting older Releases.

It sounds like you will have to access online banking through a browser if you want to keep your current phone.
