I must say that the best holiday I ever had as a child growing up in Oranjemund was when my dad took us to the Drakensberg.  We stayed at a place called "Solitude" (Believe its been renamed since then)  Wow it was great, we went hiking up in the mountains, swam in the rivers, jumped off small cliffs into the waters below.  Fed the wild horses.  We were far away from shops  or anything, the owners had to bring us supplies when we needed them.  Electricity was not very stable so we relied on candlelight most nights.  Was just one of many holidays that stands out in my mind.  Of course there were many trekking up north in South West Africa to Etosha.
Don't sweat the small shit!

This would also be a good place to tell people if you are going to be away for a couple of days so that the rest of us don't worry when you don't appear on the forum for a while!

And whilst we were all swimming, there was a thunder storm and it was raining, brilliant BUT scary!!!! SOME of the men like my dad Roy did the walk whilst others just relaxed.
