Anglers Digest - For Those That Love Fishing
« on: January 18, 2015, 07:02:47 AM »
We have a Fishing site with a forum, product guide and facebook styled social network site.
All persons interested in fishing are welcome to join. The Social site called www.anglinghub.com  and is open to all an is similar to facebook. You do not need to be part of the forum to use AnglingHub

Our site is called www.anglersdigest.co.za
Oranjemund Angling Club you are more than welcome to create a site using AnglingHub.

Use our site to promote Oranjemund for anglers. Henties Bay was built upon recreational Anglers and its sole survival today still depends upon recreational anglers from all over the world. Maybe  Oranjemund should consider promoting itself as an angling destination.

Some pics below

Regards to all
Andrew

 you rock....Thanks Mike

I would like to chat to you about marketing Oranjemund as an Angling destination.

Why Oranjemund  ?

Distance
Convenience
Facilities like Golf ect.
Multi-Angling disciplines ( Freshwater angling - Yellow Fish angling is now very big including fly fishing for Yellow Fish, Barbel has now become a sport that includes the name " specimen barbel angling " , and of course Saltwater angling which includes species like Cob , Steenbras and sharks .)

Oranjemund would be the perfect getaway for the whole family instead of a Dad's only trip which means more moola floating around for everyone.

Hi Andrew, not a bad idea, for the last three years, the number of visitors who are into fishing have been visiting over the festive season. Just this past christmas, a group of three families came from CPT and rented the Yacht Club building. Their main aim was fishing for two weeks.

The downside, the fishing was really poor this year. Really poor, unlike the previous two years when the River mouth and beach turned into a tented fishing mecca with lots of folk setting up tents spending days down there.

Fishing is a well kept secret up here, if they run....

One old Oranjemunder who has resided in South Africa for the last thirty years , returned three years ago for Xmas and to try fishing. So impressed was he, that he keeps returning, sometimes two or three times a year.....

I think your best bet would be to speak to Fanie at Opmystoep Lodge and the two of you can perhaps arrange a business venture for fishing trips.....?

Fishing has been poor all over. The water has been to warm forcing the fish into deeper cooler water.

The possibility of 30 /40 people per trip every 10 days is what I would like to start off with. My mate is doing (30 people per tour ) tours to Angola and he is  fully booked till 2018.
As I mentioned earlier Oranjemund offers much more for the family , so groups could be even larger.

I  heard through the grape vine that security clearance papers will be done away with and normal passports procedures will be used. Is this true ? If so you will also get the long weekend anglers from the Cape.

Just food for thought " Henties bay gets over 10 000 visitors in season . "  that excludes the visitors from Swakopmund.

Thanks for the help

We have just added a SSL certificate to the hub making this a secure social network

So why does AnglingHub use an SSL certicate ?

This is an important question for anyone involved in the  web to understand.
The SSL is the backbone of your secure Internet and it protects  your sensitive information as it travels across the world. It keeps the  Internet from being ruled by anarchists and criminals and provides many direct benefits to you and your customers.
The primary reason why SSL is used is to keep sensitive  information sent across the Internet encrypted so that only the intended  recipient can understand it.

This is important because the information you send  on the Internet is passed from computer to computer to get to the destination  server. Any computer in between you and the server can see your credit card  numbers, usernames and passwords, and other sensitive information if it is not  encrypted with an SSL certificate.

When an SSL certificate is used, the  information becomes unreadable to everyone except for the server you are  sending the information to. This protects it from hackers and identity thieves. In addition to encryption, a proper SSL certificate also  provides authentication. This means you can be sure that you are sending information to the right server and not to a criminal’s server.

Why is this  important?

The nature of the Internet means that your customers will often be  sending information through several computers. Any of these computers could  pretend to be your website and trick your users into sending them personal  information.  It is only possible to  avoid this by using a proper Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and getting an SSL Certificate from a trusted SSL provider. Why are SSL providers important? Trusted SSL providers will  only issue an SSL certificate to a verified company that has gone through  several identity checks. How do you know if an  SSL provider is trusted? Web browser manufactures verify that  SSL providers are following specific practices and have been audited by a  third-party using a standard such as WebTrust.

You may now login to AnglingHub with Facebook

Please note that by using your facebook login you need to have the same email address ( on the Hub )as you have in facebook otherwise it will create a new account in the Hub.

If you were using a quick link or using your browser with the history option on, clear your cache by holding shift down and press F5, this will clear your cache.

By clicking the link to the hub or typing anglinghub.com you will go straight to your site , no need to login on the front page. ( only when you use the facebook option )
