Enjoyed the photos and many thanks.  Interesting to read Malcolms book again with this background.  I have read that book over and over again!

Some friendships were indeed made here...but for the most part we worked 12 hr shifts and did not have an overly amount of free time. Most of the guys objectives' there was to make enough money in savings and overtime to persue some other ambition. There was one chap who lived on R5 @ month. Emigrated to Canada after two years...Brian ..someone.... We watched movies every Thursday evening with a 16mm projector....and your own booze supply.....jogged in the desert(until we got stopped by Sec), played snooker and slept

Haha......and got fired.. the guy was a mining supervisor who had a whole stack of third party stickers on the dash of his landrover....these blew out and a wake up security guy saw the trail it left.....caught him redhanded!
