Help wanted - After updating Windows Seven with Service pack 1 , The following problem pitced up : When moving the pointer , it hesitates / stalls frequently on the screen for up to 4 seconds - as if the processor is occupied with another task
Any suggestion where to look to solve the irritating problem will be appreciated .

Sounds like a driver problem.
Try a new/different mouse.
Update mouse, keyboard software.
If you you using a wireless mouse try a usb or ps2 mouse.
If you using a usb mouse try a ps2 mouse..... has the green round plug.

Try Linux if all else fails....  sorriso2

Mike ! I should have stayed withn Linux , but ... sigh ... I switched to windows instead !
thanks for the advice , will try and give you feedback

If you ever decide to try Linux again, go with Linuxmint Gnome... Think its the best Linux distribution, looks nice and all just works unless you got some out of the ordinary hardware.
You can't run Windows Office so that might be a show stopper for some... Open Office is ok for most people.

Thank You very much Mike. Found problems , 2 of , One : the windows updater was not set to download matching drivers , and after downloading SP One , it seems that one should update Microsoft Office 2010 as well
doing both these , solved the problem of the freezing mouse pointer
