Looking at the pully system on photo 365

There is evedence of this used at South Works to pull the pans up the dumps
somehow these photo's have revelance to operations at South Works in the G11 area not 100%
sure this is the same

 bravo  This is indeed incredible historical pics. How sure are you about the date though? 1930 or 36/37?

Amazing how the Power station looked like in the beginning....

Absolutly amazing. Pic 0369 says it all. Look at these hardy types. I wonder who these guys were and if in fact some of them remained in OMD and started families. Maybe some of the 'elderly' OMD'rs can put names to these men.

Good point here Leon, not a single one of these chaps are "smiling" for the Camera, must have been a hard life back then...

Also they are kitted out for winter and I like the "Chicago: fashion.....

We got an answer about "Bergbau = Mining" already and "1930er" means it is sowhere in the 1930ies so it could be anytime between 1930 and 1939!
