It seems a nice place compared to the one horse town I grew up in!

I thought our one horse town was rather nice. I grew up there from 1960-1980 and have some wonderfull memories.Would not have changed a thing.
I remember a Barbara Winstanley.

Don't know if there's a thread about this, but in the light of "visiting Oranjemund"...  I haven't been in the dunes for about 30 years, so I would like some info please if any of the current Oranjemunders can assist.

I've pressed Mike A's button so much already, I'm sure the paint's already coming off... so anybody please:

1. Am I correct in assuming the road between Aus and Sendelingsdrift is now tarred, and the approx 60km from Sendelingsdrift to town is gravel but OK for normal sedans?
2. Is there still only certain times of the day that one can enter or leave town, for instance you have to leave before the gates close at 6pm?
3. If I enter Nam via Noordoewer, I will be able to leave the country via Oranjemund at Swartkops?
4. Can I move into E10/11 already? LOL.

The road between Rosh Pinah is tarred and in a good condtion.... the road from Rosh Pinah to the Oranjemund  Turnoff is also tarred, but the road between The Sendelingsdrift gate to Oranjemund is currently being tarred..... the dirt road is not in a good state, but sedans can drive it....
2. Is there still only certain times of the day that one can enter or leave town, for instance you have to leave before the gates close at 6pm?

The North Bank Road between Swartkops and Sendelingsdrift closes at 21H00 , opening at 06H00

3. If I enter Nam via Noordoewer, I will be able to leave the country via Oranjemund at Swartkops?

Yes!

4. Can I move into E10/11 already? LOL.

And once again Mike's buttons get pushed and he's the usual star with all the answers. Thanx Mike.
Checked my e-mail, nothing new there?

To be clear - So the gate to the North closes at 21h00, but if I have to pick somebody up in Springbok at 6am on my way back to the Cape, will I be able to leave at 2 or 3am via the bridge?
