i am a wp fan and i must say we might not have had a great run over the last few years but mike i want to know something from you FS supporters , if orange is the teams colour why then do they wear the orange strip only as a second choice , its otherwise white with pieces of orange......hmmmm?

Darryl - the Orange Free State played in white jerseys with orange cuffs and collar way back.
The Cheetahs kept the original colours with some minor changes from time to time for example in 2005 the jersey had orange collar and 3 orange stripes on each shoulder. At that time Adidas was the gear sponsor hence the 3 stripes. From 2006 Canterbury became the gear sponsor and the orange stripes (Adidas trademark) had to change as it looks today.

Regarding the Orange jerseys - due to the amount of teams playing and most teams having white somewhere on their jerseys the Cheetahs make use of the Orange gear when playing away games.
You will notice that the Lions for instance use red gear on away games
And the Springbokke use white gear when playing Ireland away.
The habit of having different away game gear is internationaly used by all teams and S A  teams had to adopt.

I personaly have no problem with away orange gear but will hate to see my team play in anything but the white at home. (the house of orange)

I am also a Cheetah supporter because Bloemfontein is so close to Kimberley, our children study there etc. The only time I don't support Cheetahs is when they are playing the Griekwas because I have to be loyal to our home team, my husband belongs to the Griekwa Club, and we live next to the Absa ruby stadium, home of the Griekwa club. And lastly because Mike said the Cheetah supporters are sexy. :36_2_35:
