I can't help you with the clock but I can tell you that my wife, Edna, was Diamond Queen in 1954. She was elected with two princesses whose names I can't recall. The Diamond Queen was given a number of quite valuable prizes as were the runners-up. The clock was possibly one of those which went to the princesses so there must have been two clocks.
Ricki Barron's mother might be able to supply more information.

On Behalf of Bob Molloy, I post the following :

"This is a pic of Edna Molloy on the catwalk. Diamond Queen Ball 1954 Unfortunately it does not include a shot of the two Princesses who were given clocks as prizes."

The MOTHS always presented the Diamond Queen ball.  Would they not have a record of this somewhere?

a snippet from my scraps: re happenings in Oranjemund . September 1956  . " Oranjemund enjoyed another social occasion , when the Oranjemund players , in close collaboration with with management and staff of the retail store , staged a mannequin parade in the ballroom of the rec club . The atmosphere was delightfully set from the start The décor was in excellent taste , seating being arranged for 250 guests at tables around the T shaped rostrum which formed the walk for the models . Sherry and snacks were served by members of the players . Some sixty gowns were modeled by twelve local girls chosen from volunteers for their size in order to enable a full range of dresses and other fittings to be adequately displayed

another piece : March 1954  " The Oranjemund M O T H S entertained the general public to a free dance and floor show . The Diamond Queen , Mrs. Edna Molloy , drew the raffle from a revolving drum for the prize winners . Mr J Delport won the first prize , a cheque for 25 pounds  .... sorry princess name 1954  ?? still eluding . The queen for 1955 was Shirley Thomas , princesses mrs. D. Solms & mrs. J. Taylor . After crowning the GM , Mr. Devlin made the presentations . This year the Queen received an inscribed wristlet watch , and each  princess an inscribed bracelet .

Look at the picture of Edna . on the left one can see [partially] two examples of contemporary art designed by Mr. Hans Rhode . these sculptures were figures of a kneeling man - named "the digger " and of a woman "Young Love " each made from sheet metal and steel wire . the potted plants and flowers arranged by the garden club
