Forgot to mention  -  that photo was taken after his first heart operation  -  I was in St. 3, so it was in 1975.  My God, look how thin he was then!

One thing about him I will never forget.  Till his last day on this earth - his back was always rigid and his shoulders drawn back as if saying  -  I am proud to be Dirk Coetzee and I'm not saying sorry that I walk the face of this earth.

Dalene, sorry, somewhere over the last few months , I scanned a similar pic, the only difference was that it was to do with the first black policeman serving in the Omund branch of the SWAP. I do not remember where I put, archive for later, in here or on the main site....Your old man looked exactly the same, stiff upper back.... scared the shit outta me as a youngster, especially the sunday they came to pick my dad up for streaking/......

Here are a few more that I just scanned... Strange to see him without a cap on?

Mike, I don't have enough words to thank you for these.  I am saving them all to my computer.  My brother Leon still has the original one of my dad and uncle Bill Fry.

Unbelievable to see how big and strong he was way back then.  Look as his ENORMOUS hands.....   dammit, I miss him so much!
