Ok Here's a photo from Sue Hodgson, Netball in the 70's ..we need names, we know the teacher, Rosemary Van Rensburg and the principal, Mr Hodges.... Anyone else care to supply a few lost names?
Mike, Nadine behind Mrs v/Rensburg and Karen Brink in the middle, i need to think about the others.....
What? Susan think about, thats old age creeping in... you would have got all those names in a flash in your youth!
Whose gonna drink tea on Saturdays now that you emigrated to Swakop?
idontknow
Hannalie Nel on left behind Rosemary van Rensburg - sister of Leon, Tubby, Jumbo and Pieter (aunty Rina and oom Piet Nel's kids) - I remember the faces, but not the names. They were also younger than us.. ???
i'm in my prime....but becareful your birthday is very soon.
You're going to have to take my place drinking tea with the misses (watch out for the little finger when you lift the teacup)
By the way - who knows where Rosemary is in the world. She used to be a good sportswoman herself. She was also a member of the athletics club. Still competed with me even after I had finished school and was a student constable in the police force before I went to Pretoria. If I remember correctly, she was also still competing in running events in 1984 (went to visit my parents and competed for the Oranjemund team - I think a guy named Ronnie was then in charge and asked me to join the team for the competition). Wasn't she also our PT teatcher at OPS in those years?
As for alzheimers - who was our trainer for gymnastics then? Quite a few good gymnasts emerged there, i.e. Johannes Esterhuizen, Anita Uys, Elzette le Roux, Susan Pieterse etc etc. All I remember is that we were trained bloody hard - can still even do the splits till this day! Crab stands, walk overs, summersolts, floor routines, beam routines, vaults, uneven bar routines - endless!
Rosemary is still in Oranjemund and she is now a grade 4 teacher (Mrs Muller)
Super! Is she still involved in the sports with the kids? Would love to see her when we go to the reunion in November.

Wow Dalene I am impressed, well no excuse now, you will have to be the star of our show.
Only the split - think I might strain my jaw, dislocate my nose, reallocate my bum around my neck and loose my eyeballs if I should try a whole lot of the other stuff!
:emot19: :emot19: :emot19: Dalene, I can just picture you with your bum 'reallocated around your neck' :emot19: :emot19: :emot19:
As long as it's not your head that#s getting stuck somewhere around there... bling1
Hallo Julle. Vandag eers foto gesien ! Ek is Johanda Theron ( nou Fourie)
Ek is 3de van links op die foto - agter Karin Brink. Langs my staan Ronel. Ek kan nie haar van onthou nie.
Rosemary is my eldest's , Shannon's teacher, I hope she is still here for the reunion....
I must add that I do not have fond memories of Mrs van Rensburg. Use to teach me PT and made us do PT in our panties and shirt if we forgot our leotard at home. How embarrasing for a young girl going through (what girls go through at 10/11/12) and also being overweight at the time. She made us parade arround in your underwear, regardless of who was watching. She most certainly made no bones about the fact that if you were not athletic then you did not count in her books. The thought of those days still make my blood boil!
What did i each you Dunja? That's a serious question. I's something I'll never understand.
Dunja, I had MR Joseph as PT teacher, one day he never came to school as he was sick, SO Mrs Van Rensburg took us...and that was the day that I forgot my PT pants at home.... then she made me run around in my underpants... I never forgave her for that, although I still talk to her.....
Back right is Mandy Rapley.
