I go to the beach early on Saturday morning's with the dog, so this time I snapped a few pics that might interest some of you!
What beautiful pictures. Going to the beach for us was a real treat because you could only go if someone's Dad had a company car for the weekend. Then we all piled into the back of an open-backed jeep, standing up and singing "She'll be coming around the mountain"! Nothing was set up along the beaches, just pull-ins for you to park or it was just all the way to the yacht club. If my memory serves me correctly, the road were all dirt roads to the beach. I can also remember the big treat if someone had a jeep when the Orange River was due to flood. We'd find a spot and wait for it to come.
Does anyone know in what year the road to the beach was tarred?
???
