What beautiful pictures.   Going to the beach for us was a real treat because you could only go if someone's Dad had a company car for the weekend.  Then we all piled into the back of an open-backed jeep, standing up and singing "She'll be coming around the mountain"!  Nothing was set up along the beaches, just pull-ins for you to park or it was just all the way to the yacht club.  If my memory serves me correctly, the road were all dirt roads to the beach.  I can also remember the big treat if someone had a jeep when the Orange River was due to flood.  We'd find a spot and wait for it to come.

Could someone please give me Catherine & Ingrid Fry - Email address Barbarak (Fry).
Could please swap Gladys Smith and Mrs Ockwell around in Mavis Padruths photos.
Whatever happened to Reed Island near the golf course, we used to go fishing there.
Thanks for the photos around OM. For those that don't know Google Earth has a great photo of OM.
Whatever hapened to the 5 rows of trees in 1st avenue, I used to stay at 53/1st avenue next door to Clive Symes, There was an alleyway seperating the two  houses. I will post some photos soon.
Anne Greenway, I remember taking Susan to the cinema on the handle bars of my bike.
