The  famous  T junction  .. many  an  under the  weather  person  coming back  from  a  beach  party , Golf  club ..or  Yacht  club  would  at night  in  their  confused  state  try to " overtake  the  truck  with  the  chevron  on  the  back "  with  disastrous  consequences  .. I  have  in  my  time  seen  quite  a  few sorry  looking  vehicles  lying  damaged  in the  sand ... The  other  venue  where many  parties  of  note  occured  was  the log cabin   .. is  it still in existence ??

Sandy, I'm drinking beer again, waiting for the rugger to start, braai is about to be lit, and Yes! the Log Cabin is still there, and is now run by the Off Road Club, and is one of the more stronger and well supported clubs in town. In fact I drove past it this morning, but neglected to take a pic...... but I will soon.....

They organize Dune ride trips into those big dunes east of town once a month and get people bringing their sand cars from as far afield as Springbok.....

It's one of the few clubs that you can go to still at 10h00 on a saturday morning and leave on sunday at 06h00......

;D

Ps,,, u wanna beer bud?

I was just thinking, was'nt there a water tap somewhere behind the T-Junction, I always found it strange to be able to drink water in the middle of nowhere! Anyone else remember this tap?

???

There's one out by the 'solitary tree' I think it was a watering station for the riding club

Yes! I'm redeemed, for a moment I thought I was traveling down the same road as Barbara, getting a bit unsure about the past..... phew! all those years of Punchcard towers are starting to catch up with me...
