As a schoolkid at OPS , I always remember the fuss made at school on Springday, 1st September...You got to wear civvies to School... What I also found wierd, was how in winter, sometimes the east wind would come early and trick the blossoms on the tree's and plants into opening earlier... just a memory...
Must say I miss seasons. We don't have that here. We go from warm winters to blazing hot summers and then back to warm winters :cappello1:

We have this here sometimes too without eastweather.

me's not too happy about winter comming. I am NOT a winter person. I don't want to be a bear in winter to hybernate - I know I am a bear already when winter arrives. I go into a semi-hybernation state and I get grumpy.
I LOVE SPRING AND SUMMER - how I wish I were a swallow to follow summer all year long!

I'm a winter person...... love the cold... I even swim in the middle of winter...... the only thing is, I too tend to hibernate... go to bed very early get up very late.... love it to bits...
The best days going for a swim here is on rainy days Mike. You can swim for hours. Nobody in your way. No (sweat)smelly water. Fantastic. The hot days are the family days at the pool. You spend more time around the kiddy-pool taking care of your non-swimmer kids.
and that is exactly my point.... the town pool is empty in the mornings during a cold day, but if the east wind turns up and things get hot...then the floaters arrive... don't swim... they just float in your path...luckily I am a fairly big chap and just go over them..... e180

Your spring starting, our autumn starting and from a few chilly days we have had lately, it feels like we could have an early starting, long-lasting cold winter. Hubby is worried the frost is going to come before the potatoes are ready.
This is what it looked like down our road on Friday after only 5 minutes of hail. After that it snowed for about 15 minutes. (big flakes) By an hour all was gone. At night we had frost again.
If you take a close look you can see the hail jumping up of the ground...
This is the famous German "Autobahn". Most parts we still have no speed limit. So sometimes you'll see people passing you with a Porsch or Ferrari at a speed of 200 - 250kmh. I know of people driving there motorcycle up to about 300kmh. THIS IS A NORMAL ROAD!!
Well I only wanted to show the snow. It's a pity you can't see much of it.
Gee! Imagine we had an Autobahn in Za... imagine the Taxi's going at Mach 2 with roofrack in tow!
