Title: Yacht Club Roof!
Post by: Michael Alexander on March 25, 2008, 06:15:02 PM
How many of you in those hazy youth days, would climb on the roof of the Yacht club and just get pissed and watch the ocean?

typical teenage  stuff .. also the log cabin roof  to  watch the sun come up ..........  hence the  huge audience for  Viv's attempt at  writing  off my  old  mans  car ..........

Never got on the roof of any place, except that of our own house.

Now on the other hand.....   I cannot claim the same about getting pissed!     barb1

Yuk  -  I don't ever want to have a babbelaas again like the one I had just before I left O/Mund.  That was after my farewell party.  We started out at the Hexen Kessel - champaine, wine and more champers.  Then off to Sportsmans -don't even remember what all the mixes were.  THEN we were lekker strong, so off to the river.  More mix and champers.  At one stage I lost my glasses (how the hell did I ever manage that - they were about the size of saucers), got them back after someone stepped on it and changed the shape somewhat.  Got home -  tip-toed to my room.  Could'nt stand upstraight to get undressed - had to lie down on the floor.

Pretended to be very sick when I had to get up to go to work.   Big Dirk had no sympathy!  Neither did Eugene Barnes  -  they all laughed their  arse  off at me.    Thought I would die  -  did not - lived to have a few more babelaas mornings, but not ever a motherload one like that day!

I sure did.  It was while I was performing some or other ballerina pirrouette lift move with a bloke called Wally ( a huge huge man) in the sand down by the river.  I thought we were doing pretty well  -  tried to be very gracious, but in some or other way my glasses flew off like it had rockets tied to it.  This screwed up the whole act  -  Wally landed on his back and I ended up on my knees in the mud on the water's edge (imagine what my white pants looked like).  I think it was while trying to get Hugo van Rooyen's bakkie, that was stuck in the sand, out that someone else stepped on my glasses.

In my not to sober state, I actually managed to get the bakkie out of the sand.  Not due to good driving skill  -  I just loosened the handbrake!  So much for every other person claiming to be sober..........

You missed out man ... it was one of the highest buildings in town, so the view was great. My folks would have killed us if they knew it at the time.
