You guys must watch KYKNET on Wednesdays at 19:00pm (RSA time)! I was just recently in the Polaris African Star Challenge and they now until mid August have the whole thing on TV! It's a personal achievement for me, but nice to share with you! Check it out! Maybe - if any of you like quads - you could be in the finals next year! I am definitely going to enter in 2008 again, it's excellent fun for beginners to pros!
go shola go,all omunders will heap support on you,go good girl, best of luck x
thanks! It was great! And fun to watch yourself on TV. We were in the July issue of Dirt & Quad as well. Nice to represent our town and country.
This is going back a long way...but talking about personal achievement and bravery...Shola was it not you when we were young down at beauvelon camp site that jumped into a swelling raging orange with a rope to swim to a few ghuys stuck in the reeds...??????????????
Im sure it was debbie or lindie Ray that got trapped, we were all on windsurfer boards and canoes messiing about...you swam the rope to one of the parents and from there about 5 adults formed a chain along the rope that you delivered to drag them all to safety.....NOW THAT IS BRAVERY and PERSONAL sense of satisfaction and achievement......
i may be wrong as it was 100's yrs ago but if this was you it has stuck with me all these years just the selfless bravery and courage.....awesome bru.....
well done on the bike thing....by the way
Yes, that was me! Dumb if you ask me now... I could've died and almost did. But ja, is was one of the Ray twins. She got pulled down river on the board and got stuck in the reeds where no-one could get to her... That was scary!
I remember that I ended up at the end of the rope - it was too short - I had the very end in my mouth, while trying to stay afloat against the current. My arms were tired and my legs and because I could only breathe through my nose, I kept getting water up it. It was horrid! I have never been that scared in my life! I could also hear the twin in the reeds calling me to swim to her, but as I tugged at the reeds, they kept coming out the bottom and drifting away so I couldn't get closer. Then the parents had worked their way along the bank and made a chain to pull us out!
Wow, that was many moons ago! I think I was seven at the time...
wow, well done.
Just found out yesterday, we are going to be on Supersport in the next few weeks too!!
I don't think it was a personal achievement but, I was a bit of a dare devil back in my younger days and so I took a jump out of a flying aeroplane at 3,500ft and now, I am scared of heights.....
i actually managed to get my wife pregnant!!!!!!!!
now there's an achievement
aha! but do you remember what you did to get her impregnated?
???
Personel achievement...... Getting married in Oranjemund and actually staying married....think about that one!
hey staying married in any place is impressive
mike ....well you see theres the birds and the bee's right.........
Congrats Darryl, that is great news. Enjoy the nights where there is no crying or feeding every two hours......once you have a baby, there will be no nights of sleeping peacefully....
you seem to have already forgotten i am also married peaceful nights dont exsist , i wake to find myself bruised from the constant beating i get in bed, while she sleeps
I DON'T THINK THAT SHE BEATS YOU UP WHILST SHE SLEEPS DARRYL,......US LADIES NEED THE SPACE ..........AND A KING SIZE BED...
ITS MY VERSION AND I AM STICKING TO IT !!!!!!!
There was a lady from Oranjemund on TV a while ago who won endurance riding events on a horse she trained in the dunes there in O'mund. She was invited by some or other prince/king from S-Arabia to go and train his horses and I think he eventually bought a horse from her as well. Does she still live there and what is her name.
Well done, Oranjemunders - you deliver the best of the best.
Andrew Darne can give you her proper name, as his wife used to ride with her, Her surname was Muller, Her husband was STeve, He managed SAJV, kinda like the Outsourced version of Town Electrical, Building and Maintainence..... They left about a year back, he mentioned something about buying there own horse farm or something down in the Southern Cape, as I said Andrew will know more....
???
I suppose I am allowed to boost myself a little.
