Post by: Michael Alexander on April 01, 2008, 01:31:27 PM
Ok.... it might be trivial to those of you living elsewhere, but the rain and thunder have just landed...not a spot of blue sky anywhere, the heat, the dust.... that smell .... rain in the desert...... the lights are flickering...... i wonder when the power will go down..... it's lekker living in the desert....

Our power was down from 10  - 12 this morning not due to thunder storms though. Hot as Hades here to-day I've worked up a glow.  Sat at the beach earlier with my newspaper, sushi and one glass of white wine.....magic

Remember that smell well. Especially in Windhoek.
What do you need electricity for? Never heard of Benjamin Franklin?

Thunder storms are the best...lived in Ficksburg, thunderstorm belt. We'd watch from the lounge window how the lightning hit the tree's on the golf course over the road, quite something to watch. Then onto Phalaborwa, the storms there were heavy but past very quickly, just enough to cool you down then the steam rose from the roads, like I mean steam.

We didn't have thunder and lightening here and I don't have a key for my kite.
Anyway I had a good day to-day
