Tumbled Stones from Oranjemund and SWA
The most beautiful memories I brought with me from Southwest
Holding one of the stones in my hand, closing my eyes, I see in my mind the endless desert and savannah, i hear the atlantic ocean with its wild waves at the beach, see pepples roll in the backwash and polishing the stones.
I feel the warmth of the southwest sun on my skin and the cool wind of the skeleton coast. I hear the shouting of the Segulls and Kormorans as well as the songs of the birds in the bush.
I feel peace and contempt in me that i only felt in this country,
I dream myself to the campfires, our SWA trips and see the breathtaking sunsets at the coast, and on the Fish River Canyon.
I hear the guitar sound and the merry songs, which we sang together with friends and acquaintance on such occasions.
I feel the sand, dust and the sweat on the skin and the cool bath in the Oranje.
I taste the salt on my lips of the raging sea and feel the gale winds blowing in my hair. and a never ending growling in my ears produced by the winds.
I hear the silence of the nights , the laughing of hyena and the cries of the Jackals roaming the streets at night in Oranjemund.
I see herds of Antilopes and feel the longing pain in my heart for southwest, and dream myself to Africa....
Great words Georg, well put, made me feel like I was at the Fish RIver Canyon for a moment... to the rest of you that have not visited Georg's site.....it's awesome and loads of photo's dealing with everything Oranjemund ...
Thanks Mike

Great site, so strange to see the finger of God intact as it is no longer a finger but just a big rock..
Also love the Lüderitz site as i have fond memories of our stay there. bravo
They always said that once South West Africa.....became Namibia, that finger would fall..,... and it did.....
