I was enrolled as a Brownie in 1956, flew up to Guides later and then was sent to boarding school so couldn't carry on.  What happened to the Brown Owl and the Guide Guider of that time?  I subsequently (1985!) became a Brown Owl myself.
I think one of the Guiders was a Mrs van Den Hoven and I reckon the Brown Owl was Mrs Magnus - I still make beds like she taught us.  My daughter went right through the Girl Guides and my granddaughter is now a Teddy in Fishhoek - 3 generations!  Anyone else remember?   Pat Kuhn (Nee Jackman)
