Some memories of home.
Thanks Carl daman
The cheetah in the last photo is named Eddie. They have a special track set up at this park where visitors are invited to race against him over a 80mr distance. If you beat him, your enterance fee is refunded to you. Needless to say, Eddie remains unbeaten till this day.
Some specs on Eddie:
Age - 1.5 years
Top Speed - 110km/h
0 - 80km/h - 3.6s
Eddie reaches top speed after about 100m. He can only maintain this speed for about 30s at a time before needing to rest.
Eddie was born in captivity, and is currently undergoing extensive training for being released back into the wild when he is 2 years old.
Hahaha Carl. Do you want us to get home sick?
I see that at work everyday. Colleagues... you know.
Or when I go shopping down where the bargains are...

This site kind of reminds me of a relay race ... some of those that started off posting pics , memories etc so well have now slowed down a bit , lost a bit of steam .. must admit even me to a point .. then new ones join the race and it seems we kind of hand the stick to them and they continue with the race .. that is actually heartening to see , it means that things and new memories / sharing of thoughts /opinions / peeks into our lives etc will continue ... The WRBKA clan are our strong newcomers at present ( at least my observation ) Keep it up till the next relay team arrive .. allgood bravo
Thanks Sandy, I'll post some more pics tomorrow. As for Jnr, you must be referring to the Bavarians...hee...hee.
Well said SandyB.
Keep it going Carl. I'm enjoying your post too. It adds life to the site and keep my memories ablaze. To be honest, since I've logged on this site, I've got SA and Nam. so close to my heart and mind it keeps me busy every day.
Sometimes I think you guys must think I'm just around for the games and the fun... No! I follow as much as I can of what you guys post. From pics of wild-life over personal stories of childhood and teens all the way to the contoverse discussions on politics and society.
It's very enrichening being online here...
What Sandy and Jnr said.............me too

It works normally here with all people, dont know about your slow system
Let me know when it does not work
Some great pics snr. I wanted to enter a comment, but I don't have an aol account. Speed is not a problem. The company I work for uses a dedicated line leased from Telkom for internet activities. Unbelievable speed for downloading and surfing the web during working hours...hee...hee
Hi Carl
Glad you could see the pics
Often people tell me they cant. It depends on th PC settings
To view them as slides the 56 kbit is to slow
