Have the MIB or MIW (men in white) blocked this site? Where is everyone today? Even the earlybirds are not online :emot78:
Hellooo !! I'm here was just doing some personal messaging .. yes it is sooo quiet ?? Its Mayday they must all be on strike ......
Its Mayday and ascencion day which means public Holiday
That reminds. In SWA times that was not a publich Hol. Guess it still is not ????
Georg .. purple tongue gone I see ? but then its morning , a good cup of coffee is more appropriate hey ?
I stopped gurgling with red wine, now it looks normal again...... cl1
Ah, I'd forgotten about Mayday ... they don't celebrate that here, which is why I'm at work while you guys are all off enjoying yourselves ... notfair ... I think it's time I moved back to a 'normal' country
@ Patricia .. you back .. hunting us down ?? sent a message ...
@ Patricia, i dont think that its is a publ. Hol. in SA and Nam
The working people here are cheated of an extra day off.
2 publ. Hol. falling on one day
Ascencion day is inofficial Fathers day here
Georg: Ok, so Happy Father's day Georg. In France father's day is mid- June.
Not sure if you've recovered from your bicycle incident, but your looking creepier by the day.

Today I was on facebook and for the first time I realised that Katia (spelling) is your sister... If my memory serves me correctly, she was quite a tomboy ?
I like to answer that before Patricia comes in
Yes Katia is the sister, i know both very well. Katia was rather the more lively one, but both lovable kids of Chris and Jenny our neighbours and i am still in contact including several visits in France
In fact i envy that family for its closeness up to now.......
Hi Patricia. As everybody knows now ...Mayday!
The weather was fine, so we were out with the dog all day walking, meeting people, lunch at a nearby farm, bike tour and in the end a little fair downtown. So we were :emot112: in the end. Won't have much time this weekend either.
Monday is another public holiday in Namibia...actually it falls on a SUnday...so the people in charge move it to a Monday..... So the town should be quiet this weekend.....unless Paula hangs around still....
Seems all are out for a long Week End in O-M
Very quiet here today
Saturday morning and no one online again ... I went to the SA Freedom Day celebration yesterday (yes, they celebrate that here ...). Had a lekker boerewors roll, some pap, oxtail and koeksisters ... yummy, that was good. The whole thing downed with ice-cold Savannah ... made me miss the lekker braai we had in Oranjemund.
You´re not alone.....Daddy is watching you
I will send you a PM please answer if possible
Thanks
I'm here too..... at home, but going to work in about 5 minutes...will logon there though......

Yes Dunja, your right. She was, and still is, a tomboy. I keep telling her to get onto this site but she's always coming up with excuses ... no time bla bla bla. I'm going to France end of June so will make sure she gets hooked like the rest of us poor mortal soles iknow
Come on Patricia

Both of you are full of nonsense iknow but i love it
Patricia, I was really trying to picture you and your family and it only dawned on me today that your family were quite good friends with the Soum's if it dawned on me correctly? hehehe

Yes, we did spend quite a lot of time together. There weren't many French people in Oranjemund so we kind of stuck together, mainly with the Gonzales familly, Jean-Marie Luykx and then the Soums.
I never said anything else Patricia.
How about a very short video clip of the 2 of you ???? shall i post it ???
XOX
Patricia, I have managed to pick up contact with Virginie Soum after quite a few years. Her and I actually returned to O/Mund in 1987 for a visit. We then kept contact for another three years and then never spoke again till about a month ago when I found her on facebook. Yes, the power of the net is amazing...
A very short clip of the Lotte girls
See who is tom boy and who not LOL
Geez Georg ... could you not find something better ... that was like 20 years ago ... laughpoint

hi Patricia
do you work fridays, have noticed you never logged on friday mornings.
maybe just my imagination.
mike
You're right Mike. My weekends fall on Fridays and Saturday, so I'm generally out and about and not online. But that's gonna change with the hot weather coming. We hit 49 degrees yesterday so I'll soon be spending my weekends at home with the AC on ...
Hi Patricia, Have you ever been inside that 7 star hotel? I found out recently that the shape of the hotel was based on a sailing boat. Untill then, I just thought the architect was a clever dude...lol
Yes, I've been there a few times ... not to sleep though (a little pricey) ... just for dinner or drinks. It is pretty amazing and worth seeing. But for me, it wasn't inside the hotel that appealed to me most, but what's around it, i.e. the sea. I've swam around it twice to raise funds for Medecins sans Frontieres and THAT was an amazing experience (1.2km), especially that you can't swim there under any other circumstances.
I believe that it was designed by South Africans? Is it true?
Designed ... not sure ... but South Africans were definately part of the whole project. And they've participated in many other major constructions here. Murray & Roberts are everywhere in this place.
