Scott Wallace went to school with Alfie and myself, although he was a few years ahead of me. people from that era were Chris Jones and Colin Richards and Craig Thornton.....

John and Barbara were our neighbours in the 70's , party ppl!

Barbara Wallace worked for Eskom for quite a few years and lived in Melkbos. I used to see her often. I had not seen her in ages and assumed that her and John had immigrated to Paula in Canada.

Barbara Eia...., correct me if I'm wrong, is'nt Paula also a doctor?
Where did Dina end up?  See if you can get in contact with Debbie Wallace and get her to join the site.

Hi Debbie

Paula also became a Doctor and is now in the medical profession in Canada. John and Barbara are in Cumbria in UK. Dina lives in Milton Keynes in UK. Scott is a Doctor in Bath in UK. I am in touch with Debbie will phone her tonight to tell her about this fantastic sight. I have just had an e-mail from Julie Vice (Wilson) she is in England and will ring me tonight for a chat.

When i phone Debbie I will see if she can get hold of the rest of family and get them hooked.

Regards

Hi Guys,

Having been in Canada for almost 12 years, I'm not surprised that a large number of Doctors are MIA and in Canada . . . Our daughters and our doctors are both from SA and there is a third in their practice . . . they are VERY popular here!!

Good to see you on the site and enjoying it, Barbara . . .

Hi Diana,

Just quiet, as my wife (Wendy - you met her at Richard's 40th . . . how long ago was that then. eh?) gives me the dirty look each time I get onto the site . . .

Good to see the chatter . . . I had an email from Barbara (Brownless) and am chatting to Verona and Denise Barratt . . . it was so nice to see photos of the folks, thanks to Richard and Sandy . . . I must get a scanner as I have a few old Oranjemund photos too!!

Hope you are well . . .

Lots of Love,
Keith.

You know everyone is on about this "virtual" O'mund - I think that at the rate Mike is posting I'm soon going to have a "virtual" husband!  At least we work together so except when he suffers from gout then we get to see a lot of each other at work!

As for the gout - Mike hasn't touched red wine in all the 13 years we've been together! I put it down to all the red meat/droewors/biltong, can't blame the beer as he didn't drink any this week-end!

Hmm - wonder if the lack of alcohol on Mike's part had anything to do with the Cheetah's losing to WP? No comments please Pete or Adriaan!

The Cheetahs threw that game: for a number of reasons..

1) remove the pressure of being unbeaten in the Semi's
2) Allow WP a backdoor into the semi's, we'd rather play against Wp in the semi's as apposed to Bulls or Sharks or Lions..
3) Knew that Rassie and Brenden Venter are now coaching WP and know all the FS players better than anyone...
4) No relevance to us losing any position on the log...
5) Notice how helgard and Naka were as cool as cucumbers throughout the game? , these two guys are some of the most animated characters in SA rugby when their side is going down......

there is a method in the madness...and yes the Gout huts like hell, so I will be onlne in the wee hours tonight if I cant sleep....

Thanks Barbara . . . I'll try the photo-of-a-photo stunt, so far I'll take your word for it . . . did you get my email reply?

Hey, Michael - sorry to see that my old team took advantage of the Cheetas throwing the game.

So, how are the Bokke doing . . . our team drew with Japan!!!!!   Heh, heh, heh . . . don't laugh, Canada will play a series of games against South Africa - starting with Ice Hockey, Lacross, Football (that you throw like the yanks) and Baseball . . . heh, heh, heh.

Go the bokke . . . crap that they don't bother showing the world cup on TV here, eh!!

Now Mike,

I gotta say one thing to you about Rugby, cheetahs in particular. We moved here to The BIG Hole from CT, and WP is the team!!! Have you been to Bloem to check out the Cheetah fans. Mike, you dont fit the profile, s'true, what the hell happened??? Ok, as for the Griqua's, well that is a swear word for us WP supporters.

Ok Mike,

now I'm worried.  You need to get yourself up here some time. Some really nice pubs. The Occidental is the place nowadays. Did you ever go to the Halfway house. This is the teen bar in town.

Note, not comment on you being a cheetah supporter.  I cant remember Mike, but when I registered on the forum, Rian tells me that I had to swear allegiance to the cheetahs???? is he having me on???

Hahahahaha...well Done to Riaan, I was wondering when somebody would notice that.....249 members later, it get's mentioned....I took the original "I agree" document and thought it was too long, so I modified it and put my own rubbish in there about diamonds and braai and off course that the CHeetahs are the best rugby team in the world....hahahaha... all for a joke.....

Halfway house, the only drive in pub in Africa..... Nice fireplace, two pool tables and 2 waiters for the cars outside..... halfway between town and Cassandra, where I stayed at the DeBeers Single Quarters... hehehehe!

Hey Yvette,

Yes, I remember you . . .

You're testing my memory, Honey . . . we lived in Cassandra - for the life of me, I cannot remember the street (MacHardy, I think?) . . . number 5 or 7, probably 7???  Geez, my memory IS going . . . oh crap!! :-\   I'll have to confirm with Wendy - she will probably remember.    If the MacPhees (he was an engineer - a Scot) are still there, please give them my/our regards . . .

Anyway, our house was just across from the Mine Club . . . I used to walk over to play squash (for a season or two I played for Griquas, when they were short of players and scraped the bottom of the barrel . .  . also had the pleasure to play against Barry Richards' wife in the games against Nicky Oppenheimer . . . I beat her, because she had bronchitis . . . heh, heh, heh!!)   We had the Assistant GM on the one side of us . . . they were the last house in the road.  It took about a year to get used to Kimberley, but then I really enjoyed it . . . just to be transfered to Lime Acres, when I pulled the very short straw to be Management Accountant there.

I remember the Star of the West as if it was yesterday . . .

Regards,
Keith.
