Yes Mike busy ,, now dead quiet ... looking back on the activity initially ... my consience been prodding me .. i used to be busy and an avid contributor ... Right now me a very mentally and physically exhausted being ... this extremely and challenging year on the economic front has taken its toll .. our business was at September still 25 % down on trhoughput and turnover ,, the shortfall has shrunk now with some more business flowing in to 19 % ,, in real terms this sort of thing can destroy a business , but by astute management and cost cutting that is without laying of anyone excepting where possible not replacing a few posts . if their loss did not affect operational stability , we have pulled through no profits but also no losses ... so we holding out ...
i cast my mind back to the same time last year , I could with confidence go away to thailand for 3 weeks and come back to find things running smooth as butter ,, and then away in November twice , coming back to the same smooth scenario... Our major raw material supplier inlate August summarily told us that they have issues with suuplying due to technical problems and taht they will not produce certain grades critical to our operation and to a huge chunk of crucial niew business that we have managed to get .. it has been a disaster of proportion ,, we buying unknown stuff from import agents to substitute but never as good ... so me initially cancelled my climb in car and wander around east coast trip to November ,, so far situaion still the same , and having to do some really fancy footwork to help plug holes and keep our ship afloat and on course ... so again no break.. and yes the toto has left me tired and crabby , sure I could just run away .. but what will I come back to ??? so for now its bite the bullet ... Dec hols are on their way ... lets all hope and pray that there is a true and real upswing next year , that applies not only to me but to everyone and especially those in Oranjemund ... so if I been quiet , we now know why ...
