Was great to see the Riding Club again.  Seems that there have been quite a few changes in the ehmm....

last 24 years! hehehe  Wow soooo many years ago.  I would think that the horses that we remember have long since died and have joined the horse angels up in heaven.....

Thanks for the pics, was nice to go back down memory lane again.  So many fun filled and carefree hours that I spent at the stables during my youth.

e154  Thanks for taking the pics Michele

Riding Club looking lovely. I was never involved there but my parents Fred and Elsie, sister Irene and brother Alfred spent many hours there riding horses like Pepper,Chaka,Sheba and more. Some names I recall from that time (1979) are Dr Gregg, Duppie (worked at Township), Carol du Toit (Dr du Toits Wife),Barbara Macpherson,Cora and husband and a tall thin blond dutch guy.
My Mandy then 2yrs old was led around on the horses as she often went along and sat in the feeding box while they cleaned the stables. Still rides well but not often.

Found this photo from back then....is it the building (club house) that was over the tar road from the actual stables.

Michael, do you know whats happend to the house that Oom Danie Pollard use to live in?  Its further down the road from the stables on the way to the bridge?  We use to spend many a lunch time on his front lawn waiting for him to return from his afternoon lunch and siesta  bling1

It was on one of this afternoons that we kids were fooling around and I ended up sitting on Andrew Murphy's arm and breaking it ...  shave

Yes, Our partners at SPar moved into the place and run a small farm on it.... The NAmibian customs officials moved in there before hand...and trashed the place, and I mean trash it...like squatters, you could not believe it... Shit on the floor and everything... there photo's somewhere, SPar paid more than 60 000 top repair the place and they moved in..... it's looking good....... I'll try organise some pics from them....
