For some reason this memory sticks in the back of my mind, somewhere in the mid 70's my mother and her friend, Bernadette MacManus, would get a phone call, we would all be jumbled into a car and driven to the old Xray, (now Eastgate), there in a room they could uy box's of RAMA margarine along with a bunch of other excited housewifes... anyone know about this?

Bernadette mac Manus !! I was battling with the surname now you gave it to me .. Ta ! .. great friend of your mom .. they were like a Mutt and Jeff gang ... remember many good parties with them ...
yep! Sandy , Too many Party's I grew up in the era of my paents partying between the McManus's , The Waymans, The Alexander's , the Delaney's and Ferries, Oh and the Hockney's of course..... these people just squatted at each houses on the weekends, party, music and getting pissed!

How things have changed!!
In those days butter was bad for you and margarine was a much healthier option.
Now butter is better, the process making margarine, boiling it black and then bleaching it to get the colour we know and apparently margarine is one atom away from plastic?
Stick to butter at least the process making it is healthier and we know it comes from a cow.
