This is turning into an amazing week with me receiving quite a few pics from the 60's. Here is one from Jim Murray, do any of you know anything about this certificate, seen one before? Thanks Jim, the rest of these pics will be uploaded to the mainsite with the next update:
Dont recall my Dad ever bringing home one of these certificates. He spent about 300 days of the year in Caseys. Maybe it was before our time.
I was given one of these certificates when I left the mine in 1974. It was the first and last time that I went into Caseys as I didnt drink. Good clean living at Affenrucken you know.
The number on my certificate is 1070 and I still have it. The signature is H Clewley or something like that.
I'll scan it and post it on the forum.
Does anyone know when Caseys ceased to exist?
Malcolm
Caseys the bar was outsourced by the mine in about 1993. The bar is still there, well the counter is and two of the booths are there..... the place is now called the "Coolbox", modified with gambling machines, pool tables and an african outdoor eating kinda place.....the swing doors are still there.....
Similar to the proclamation certificate I posted some time ago .. somewhere on the site ...
great find,i remember my mom talking about this,i was intrigued to what the blue nose meant, will ask my sister kay,she will remember,or does anyone else know
Blue nose - I don't know in this case -
but all gentleman of a certain age who consume large volumes of alcohol over an extended period of time (life)
develop a large bulbous nose of identifiable stature that has a particular colour
blueish in colour this may be the reference the barman was making !!!!!
Oh wise one, that makes perfect sense. I'm sure my dad had one as well, looks familiar, and he did have shares in the place.
thank f***k,mines only red,i would love a blue one,how do i change my colours, loved them smurfs, dont get me wrong,im still a staunch red house boy, rhodes ahoy xx
Drink more white spirits Bobby, that eventually gives you a blue nose and broken veins in your cheeks. My mother always said: "Don't drink spirits my girl or you'll turn into a...we'LL call it a smurf here

Hi guys
Here is my blue nose certificate from Caseys in 1974.
Anybody recognise the signature?
These certificates fascinate me....how many were made/presented?
I do not know the signature....
ooops...now I do... that's Harry COwley's signature... anybody concur?
Yup, Harry Cowley and the previous one looks like Viv Reyneke's dad.
@ Bobby - another name for a 'blue nose' would be a whiskey nose...... quickdop quickdop quickdop quickdop
