Remember this memorial, which is bow at the museum,but used to be at the beach....

Now  thats  one !  I  recall looking at   it  as a   child . but  for the  love of  me  cannot remember  where it was  located ..

Just above the lagoon on the ridge by the current parking lot at the river mouth....

@ Georg Snr - Yes, if I'm correct, this memorial stone is now at the museum?  Here is photo of that specific stone when it was still at the mouth.

Hope I'm not going off the subject, but in that same area, not far from the Eberlanz memorial at the end of the road towards the mouth, there was this wooden structure.  Can anybody tell me what it was for?  Hey, and don't you dare laugh at my clothes - I was only about 5 years old! thumper

Yes Bertie, thats the one i remember, great having that photo

Eberlanz, there is a house in Lüderitz with that Name, got it on film only, but you can not watch it yet, get that broadband soon !!!!

Hi Bertie
Die hout huisie was by die mond van die rivier op die "koppie" nie ver weg van die graf daar. Dit was in gebruik deur sekuriteit voor die dorp "oop" gemaak het. Dit was om te kyk dat niemand oor swem of n bootjie gebruik om die area te verlaat nie. Jy onthou mos toe die dorp en myn alles een was en  dit moontlik was vir die gelukkiges wat CDM motors gehad het om op n Sondag middag deur die myn te ry. So was dit moontlik om iets van die myn huis toe te neem en oor die rivier te neem.

I found the base of the mowe monument today, never had my camera with me, it is about 4 m above the lagoon, and about 15 m north west of the carpark at the rivermouth, will take my camera with next time.....

Yes Mike I remeber both memorial's and the wooden look-out, I remeber when the sea topled it over the wooden legs protruded out of the sand, lekker to sit on and let the waves pass by under you. Watched my dad run back not to get wet and I would sit high and dry with a big smile on my dail
