Well, the times are a changing, you all remember how the stoves in Omund run on gas? You all remember that there were two great big Gas bottles at the back of your house? when one was empty, you would put in a request to get the empty one refilled , and in the meantime you would use the 2nd bottle...well things have changed, when you run out of gas, they take away the empty bottle and you may only have one gas bottle from now onwards.... we were spoilt ..... when your one and only gas bottle is empty, you make a call and then they will replace that one for you....
Now.... who remembers last year when AFROX ran out of gas in ZA, and there was no gas in town for 3 weeks...well we lucky to have two bottles at that stage...... we can only hope that......... image14

I do.....I use gas for hot water and we ran all over looking for gas. Eventually found a bottle at a little hardware store in Edgemead. Very expensive now, just paid R748.50 for a 48kg bottle lasts me about 4mnths.
Apparently the big suppliers, like Easigas, cannot even supply full orders to the small business people who sell to us. Have clients with depots, but they have just as much problems. Public is getting furious with them, but their orders are backlogged. Still, those big suppliers demand more liquid security from the small business guys out there "to ensure that the purchases made will be paid for" - what load off bull crap they are feeding to the business guys out there! Tells them it is to comply with new credit act....

Price at this end of the world works out to N$804.00 for a 48kg bottle.... that lasts 9 months in our house...

Private Enterprise do, so that means me and all the other non Namdeb people...... however if you work for the mine...it's gratis..... although I know a man that works for the mine and uses a bottle every two months...... remember we only use it for the stove here...... so he uses 6 bottles a year at 800 bucks each, once again ... a few greedy people ruin it for everyone.....
Yes the gas story .. horries .. everybody running around hunting for gas .. I have gas stove so not affected by outages so I just bought a gas heater to be a bit more independent .. but whow does it eat gas .. not worth it .. will only use it in emergencies ..
