Title: Free telephone calls
Post by: Susan Kintscher (Lineker) on August 01, 2007, 07:44:02 AM
Do anyone of you remember the free telephone calls our parents got????
Boy this just opened it up for abuse.  I remember us calling people with the surname of a colour and saying .. "Hello is this Mrs Brown?" and they would answer "No, this is Mrs Green" and then we would laugh and say sorry wrong colour!!
Then there were the other phone calls, not going to tell you otherwise i may have a few lawyer letter being sent my way... ::) ::)

Robert

I'll upstage you as well.  As well as our telephone number already mentioned above, our PO Box was 493.  I seem to remember Barbs and I did a lot of hanging around there ???

1's, 3's & 4's... my folks stayed at 13-14th Ave, tel 3411 and PO Box 413; I always thought it was a bit cranky but coincidences like these do happen...

We used to call a girl (don't remember her name) and change our voices. "Is my mommy there". She tried so hard to calm us down and in the end we hung up ... We did this several times, and she always fell for it. Pranking on the phone could cost you a fortune back in the 80s. Nowadays I have flatrate throughout germany for about 33€ a month.
We had 334 till 79. Only phone-number I never forget. hahaha

Our Box number was 405. Telephone 880.
And who could forget Margie Badenhorst. I was so scared of her!!!!!!
I remember Barbara Winstanley....wish I'd known she was in Knysna. I stayed at Pezula last year (at the Hotel)
