Cheryl,
Your dad was a geological draftsman of note. Most of his work was done free hand I remember. He produced the most beautiful maps and charts for Doc Stocken and the geologists at the geology department. He also had a wealth of stories and I spent many a happy hour in his drafting office just listening to Iggy's fascinating tales of yesteryear and his descriptions of the geology of the Sperrgebiet and Orange River diamond deposits. His calling to higher office was a sad loss and I felt it particularly keenly as did Dot Ayre, Doc S, Ronnie Dyason and Jonathan Fowler, Bob liddle and the other geologists attached to the Geology department.

@ Gordon Brown

I also spent time in geology when i was with Les Duddy next door.

Look in lost Diamonds and you find the story of Geologlist Gudrun Corvenus.

She was highly decorated on german Universities and was murdered in the far east....
