Title: An interesting Visitor....
Post by: Michael Alexander on July 02, 2008, 01:22:43 PM
What a day this is turning out to be....I have just received a dvd in the post from our old timer Jim Murray, with photographs from the old Ebay cowboy days and As I opened the disc up, a customer called me..... It was a lady I have never seen before...turns out she heard about the website from Auntie Sue and was in town for the day.... SHe was born here in 1962 and left whilst quite young..... They were camping in the Richtersveldt and she managed to get a day pass to come into town.... the reason being is that her mother's first born was stillborn and was buried in the Graveyard back in the day...she popped into visit the grave.,... Her dad was here prior to that right in the beginning of Oranjemund.... he has since passed on..... her mother is still alive...anyhow, I showed her the site and gave her the address.... so lets see where to from here...

:sorriso2: I have to smile at Boy Georg, BUT in all fairness a lady, whom you have never seen before, calls out to you and discusses the website AND she doesn't introduce herself ?????

Michele's car needed a service, we were going to go to CPT for a long weekend, being mid term break for OPS, but the weather would have made the trip pointless and a waste of dosh....... nevertheless, it's nice to have the comforts of home....   image18   braai

Too true, nothing worse than having a break and it's peeing down. image11a

I bet Springbok has built up a lot over the past 30yrs?

Hahaha, it's still the same, except for SHoprite, The New Superspar and a Wimpy..... Edgars have closed down and no Woolworths...... and they still rip people off with the petrol price there, all the service stations are in cahoots there and charge at least 10c extra per litre than they are meant too......

Seeing that I forgot the woman's name, Sue reckons I should mention the following, as she also had a wee chat to the lady...

"Ask the forum (the older generation 1960  - 1962  is they remember a surname Staple  (If my memory serves me right, she said that that was her Dads Surname! "
