Just returned from my holiday in Barbizon (France) where we have our family home. It's just south of Paris, so close enough to go to the capital for shopping, theatres, etc, but far enough to enjoy the fresh air of the forest. A beautiful little village known as the 'village des peintres' (i.e. village of the painters) as many renowned painters were, and still are, based there. As the village is in one of the largest forest in France, there are loads of circuits for cyclists and pedestrians that are simply gorgeous. So relaxing and beautiful. And of course, many gourmet restaurants for those who enjoy good food.
... more pics ...
Nice pics Patricia. Makes me want to go there.
Is that your mom in orange? You playing with Katia?
Yes, you're right Georg. The only one missing was my dad as he's still in Abu Dhabi (although he will be going home for a couple of weeks next month).
Man! I'm soooo jealous, included is a pic of our holiday home, down south....

Thats Shannon and Cameron.... and the other two go to the same Creche.... I plan to paint the place next time we go down.....
No jr, that is Shannon and Cameron playing outside and that's me sitting down. The boy is CJ, Stephen's son.
It's a good job Mike took the photo after cleaning day!

Must've been built by the greens. Natural air-conditioning. No electricity requiered.
What an example the Alexanders are. Be proud of your husband Michele.
Got any more pics Patricia?
@Michele, damn you beat me to it, but you're right, that is CJ, I never recognised him, he is growing up sooo fast..... :nono1:
I'm the environment friendly, non-meat eating greenie - not Mike! He just does as I say!

Mike, are you letting the holiday house while you're up north? I really need a break from work!!!!
pls
Patricia - looks lovely there, green and peaceful.
Very nice Patricia, I to am as jealous as hell.
@Michael....get down here quickly,I drove by your holiday place and its flooded with all the rain we've been having.Oh yes your chickens got out.
mike, janet wants to know if you have an on suite,if so ,consider it booked ,dont worry about the painting,i will do it for a small nominal reduction in rent, just let me know when those pesky chickens are rounded up because i dont have any paint brushes image201
To all those who wanted to stay in our holiday home, I'm afraid when we move out to come back up here, another 6 families move in...... as for the chickens, the are free range homing chickens and often find their way back by themselves..... the Onsuite is not available as it burned down in the last shack fire.....
Mike, you should try Guguletu or some place like that. I'm sure you'll find a replacement to your holiday home
Is that something like Timbuctoo??
No Georg Jr, that's a different country ... don't think it's worth paying the price of a plane ticket to stay in a holiday home like that image201

I see you adhere to insurance specifications as well.... the bicycle is "locked" away behind bars when not in use. Also no extra payment for thatched roof.... the one or two ton of branches holding the corrugated zink plates down(according to the accessors) do not count - does not exceed 25% of total roof covering.... and another thing: they can never tell you that the roof screws were old and worn and should have been replaced before the damage. If what Diana says about the flooding - you are well covered man, as everything is hunky dory.
