Hi, does anyone still remember the little coffe shop that Harlene Benton used to run, about where the travel agent is now......
chris, are you not talking about The Desert Inn Steakhouse - i've been out of o'mund 14 yrs now so not sure where the travel agent is now - it was a coffee shop during the day which harleen ran and then a steakhouse at night which my uncle steve v/d westhuizen ran. harleen, myself and others waitressed there at night. is that the one u referring to?
Hi yes thats the one....
I remember working there with both my sisters, shelley, stef, Hazel, Wendy and today we were just talking about that, boy, we used to eat the left overs......we were soooo hungry. If we got caught we would have been told to leg it.... I remember going for lunch with Pual, Warren and I think it was Joanne McKay, and Warren bit into a egg toastie and it went "crunch"......
after school, myself bryan, and my brothers stuart and scott ,would dash down to the coffee shop for lunch. i guess we were lucky brats.. who else got a three course lunch every day ,and the milkshakes ,remember them. and all because harleen [ or mum to us] worked there.llll
