Now here's a name....was he connected to a Claude Agnew from that same time, Claude was my fathers  bestman at his wedding in 1955. I remember him having a daughter called Gail. They lived in 2nd Ave (I think) and grew strawberries.    Any connection??????

Just phoned Jim to find out, First he kakked me out for calling him an old timer, then went on to say that John was a single bloke , A Scotsman, was contracting out here for awhile, no family with him, had a big farewell in 66 and went back overseas,

He does not think he had any family out here at the time, however I must also admit, that I have heard that name somewhere in the past...

Yes, not a comman name....I've never heard it again. That was why I thought there had to be some connection.

Hi Diana,
An Agnew family (Dad, Mom and three daughters) lived down the road from us during the sixties and early seventies, I think it was 11/12th avenue. the daughters would probably be in their late forties now, but my Mom is scratching through her memory bank and will relay the names when she remembers!

Hi Cherry, you could be right, as one of the girls was a friend of my sister Lesley, and their ages were close together. Mother has just called, the parents were in fact Jimmy and Tess Agnew!
