Did anyone else see on the news the pretty little girl singing at the opening ceremony of the Olympics - turns out she wasn't singing at all but only miming the words to a pre-recording from another little girl who wasn't deemed pretty enough to be shown on television..........what a disgrace! madashell
I saw ir, and posted on other Olympic site yesterday
I agree a disgrace, for small child to be excluded on grounds of looks = too awful really.
there are lots of allegations about opening ceremony and recorded fireworks etc. a sham
So Englands plans for flat pack temporary stadiums looking like a sensible idea
My viewpoint .. as beautiful as the whole opening was .. there is still in the background the ugliness that has not yet left the new emerging china .. Tibet , other human rights issues .. Mixed feelings ..
That looked and sounded so nice, what a shame madashell
My word, how terrible. A "not as pretty" little face would have made the song much more touching to me! That is really sad.
Yes I agree thats it a total disgrace but hey, China is not the only country to discriminate on looks... Society does it all the time. Either your not pretty enough or thin enough. Growing up as an overweight child I can honestly say I think I lived through the discrimination often enough to realise that it does not only happen in China.
Look within yourselves? Can you all honestly say that you have not atleast once discriminated against ugly, fat, unintelligent people?
I can right a book about the times I was discriminated against because as a child I was overweight...
These days I think twice before I pass judgement! image24
I thought the CHinese were into their Karaoke..... affe-red

At least I'm coming home with a yellow card - most of our Olympic team came home with absolute NOTHING!
yellocard woo_hoo
shame but no need to image031 if they won everything what would be left for them to steal?!

How did you get that yellow card past security, Bertie?
Just told them that it's a special international passport, given to VIP's and that I'm disgusted that they don't know about it yet. So if they wouldn't let me pass, I'd call the boss. They let me through. 202

That's the Japs Mike.
Yes Dunja, we are all guilty of that. Kids can be very cruel. Unfortunately today with so many beautiful people on TV and in magazines, it is just getting worse. Apparently Australia seems to be less concerned with looks that the rest of us, there you get judged on how beautiful your heart is. Someone said the reason for this though, is that most Australian woman are not very good looking.

Must be due to all the inbreeding during the days that they were still a penal colony... image201
A while ago they ran a series of Australian soapies on SABC and I kept thinking to myself, geez, can't they find any better looking actresses? Some of them looked like they had just stepped off the set of "Deliverance".
It's a sad but true fact though, mostly to blame on those donnerse yanks. Judging a book by it's cover and not what's inside.
