I have not ever been offended by any of the contents but have admired your balls for posting them on such a public forum.

Georg jnr as you know I send you a message trying to explain the situation, because I wanted to help you understand.  I passed no judgment on it.
You never responded so I want to be clear about where I stand.
At the bottom of this debate is the absent one, Kenny - he needs to come forward and state his case. I agree with Daddy Georg - clarify what you mean Kenny.
I'm not sure I understood him but clearly he has an opinion -
I don't think it is a solution to stop posting the jokes for ONE person. 
We all know more or less what to expect, so if it is offensive don't go there to read it. 
I get a LOL moment more often than not so do check in regularly.

The choices are poor so I have not posted a response to the poll.

I am confident that that post wasn't made because you are racist, you made it because like me you could see the cleverness and funny side to it.  I believe as a SA and a parent to a child who was born in the new SA and is one of the new generation that wasn't classified by his ID nr, I had to learn to be selective about who I shared this kind of humor with as it was often used in a negative way. 

The greatest gift and trait to have to the ability to laugh at one self and ones nationality.  The jokes about VDMerwe are as funny to us as the jokes about Paddy the Irishman and Hans the German. 
The whole BLACK issue is still to new and the wounds of apartheid haven't healed for a lot of people to laugh at.
Political correctness and all that.  It is considered by some as racist to say black, so darkie, mund etc are definitely not allowed.
I always explain that black is a descriptive word like short, plumb, female, white.

I had to learn to refrain from using derogatory terms like MUND as a parent, children are very impressionable.  I never made any comment about skin color to my son and he never saw skin color. 
He came home from nursery school and asked why his friend Sipho had different hair to him.  He never asked why Sipho had black skin, I had to point it out to him.

Ok Georg do what you feel is right.  If you are going to question yourself every time you post something, don't do it. 
If you are gonna be so sensitive to one persons comments -  give it up.

Deleting an offensive post once in a while is nothing, keep posting.

Sorry for not responding. I'm also sorry about the poor choice of poll. I'm jus a bit short on time, so I'm doing things in a hurry. he topic seems hot seeing that several people have responded on the site and in PMs. hat's why I put up the poll.

To me the subject is simular to the Jew subject in Germany. If you dare to critisize Israelien politics as a German, you're considered a nazi. Why? How can Israel do anything it likes and critisize andybody as an anti semite just for saying his opinion? What's the purpose? Tactic!
The same thing in SA or any other country in the world. I feel as a "world citizin" which makes me feel responcable for things tha happen in the world.
I remember several people calling for Europian support on the Mugabe issue. Support only works if I have an opinion. An opinion that I express in public.
I've been trying to understand all of this since my teens. People here were telling me about the bad and greedy whites on the one side and the very nice and social beter blacks on the other. I would take up a position between this "fairytale" opinion and what I heard and learnt in SA as a kid. In those days I considered myself more as a South African than a German.
My opinion was and still is, that all people in a way are the same. I'm no talking about equal. That's another issue in the erea of human rights. All people are good and bad at the same time. It's a matter of educaion, where you were brought up (poliical), what chances you had (for eg career)... ect ect. that make you believe in what you believe. It's what makes you behave the way you do ect.
Everybody knows what it's like being critisised. And everybody knows what it like feeling guilty for what we have done wrong. If your partner complains about you wasing the families money on booze then it's his right and DUTY to do so.
Poliics is even tougher. Poliicians are our parents, managers. Call them what you like. They manage your taxes. hey make the laws/rules for your life. They decide what education your kids get. It's my duty to be aware of the things they do. It's my concern.
This is my opinion in general. This is what I believe is part of democracy and liberalism.
Now to SA and the "jokes". I've been reading so much critisism on politics and polititians on this board. (for eg. Eks`dom jokes) I've read about complaints towards black SA citizins. Sometimes being rasict too. ect. ect. How does this fit in with my post. To me it would have been racist, if the joke was made because of color or race. The joke was over the SA politics and politicians. That not racis. There are several other jokes of the kind on the topic. Nobody complained. Why now???
Enough now.
I'll be doing it this way in future. I will post those jokes I think are okay. If anybody feels offended please post and explain. If nesecary, I'll ask a moderator o delete.

 I have not really folowed this one and am coming in on the tail end  but  ??? sensitivity ?? really theres no place for it .. problem here is the race card is still carried like a badge ..  Ive seen enough of that nonsense .. its time all grew up and just try to work together to make things work .. we have an amazing country  with wonderful infrastructure .. and if we all worked together  we could sustain and grow it  .. Satire ..  jokes .. EKSDOM .. and so many other comments ..  yes they have their place  cos yes  there is a F::::::up of monumental proportions .. that threatens the growth and prosperity .. so yes if wrong is done then  yes comments  jokes etc are deserved ..  but sensitivity and defensiveness when those that have messed up know full well they have but revert to lame  cliches to try divert their responsibility   Uuuugh !!!

Don't opinions count around here anymore? The poll clearly shows that everybody was in favour of keeping the topic. I personally didn't find it offensive at all. We all get these type of jokes sent to us by e-mail daily and happily forward them to our contact groups.

Personally, I think this whole episode was a personal attack on Georg jnr by Kenny and this type of shit doesn't belong on the forum. If u'r upset with somebody, sort it out privately by means of the PM function provided on the forum. Believe me it works. Many of you might remember the famous incident between me and Kaye a few months back. We managed to sort out our differences privately off the forum and now have a better understanding of eachother.

Lets all be grown ups here and enjoy the forum for it's intended purpose. allgood

Maybe I'm too stupid, but I don't see the "funny" in that "joke".  Like I said - personal, tasteless and inappropriate.

Yes. It's a matter of growing up. Making jokes about hings that concerne you and me can help to understand what things are about. Sometimes they help to get over the "pain".
Jokes should never be racist nor should they hurt or insult anybody. I'm just keeping this very general.
Hope hings get straitened out soon. I want us all back in a good mood and sharing memories, beliefs or any other thoughts that help us on our way.

Some trivia for you: Do you know the origion of the saying "Throwing down the Gauntlet"?

In early english times, an offended gentleman would remove one of his gauntlets (elbow length gloves) and slap his offender through the face with it before throwing it at his feet. This meant that a challenge had been offered. The two parties would then decide on a time, place, and weapon of choice, hence the phrase "Pistols at dawn".
