I asked Leila.  She knows more than I do...
The lady is Mary-Rose .  Gilbert Kermis's sister.  She married Daniel Roulex (spelling) who is Mirium Hockneys brother. Her other brother was a jockey - Chris.  Mirium is married to Tony Hockney who's brother is David.  David and Mary (nee Mead - her Dad was the superb bread baker in the 1960's) Hockney lived in Oranjemund sinnce the day dot.

I should have turned this into a quizz.

The French community of those days also spouted Claude Berteaux (sp) who was the helicopter pilot who flew the helicopter in the kids Xmas party which is on the site under Franks home movies.

Right on the button Diana.  Neighbour to Leila.  I remember her Dad who was a rigger on the mine with Sid Worth.  He pulled the 769 out of the tipping bin at No1 plant - pictures on the forum.  Thanks for the great memory Clive.  Your Dad took photos of Lei as well - I have copies somewhere...  I got my first darkroom enlarger from him.  Dieter Heiser spent many hours training me in photography and let me use his darkroom before mine was set up!  Small world.

HI John / Leila,
I wish that I had had space to store all my Dad's negatives, it would have been quite a collection.
Remember my job during the holidays was to print out photos for him. Will always remember the smell of the fixer & Bromide

"so mary marry me".......i used to sing
"so mary mary mead"
....and thought they were the right words for so long thats how i have always sung it......but i am known for making up my own lyrics to every song i sing.....cause never remeber the correct ones......
