Title: John Creedy's Snaps!
Post by: Michael Alexander on September 16, 2008, 04:00:56 PM
Thanks to John for sending us the follwing snaps! I include his comments!

"I was a radiotech in 1966 and took some photos from the radio mast at Uubvleu.  The other shots are scans of postcards of MDC vessels used off the coast at the time. There are two beach photos.  The foofie slide Leila told you about was erected by Ronnie Jew at the first bus stop at the road that turned off along the beach road to the pink pan.  The mine ran a weekend bus service from outside the then bottle store to that stop and then stopped at the yacht club.  Notice the fence around the survey beacon. This was a CDM concrete block structure.  Rest were wood as one picture shows. Nearby were the grave stones that can now be seen at Jasper house Museum."
