ANother Old Old Oranjemunder just popped into the store, Gilbert Kermis is in town for the weekend, gotta have irish coffees with him and Sylvia over at Warrens tomorrow after the rugger......

Please say hello to Gilbert from me. I used to be good mates with his brother Robert in our primary years. I remember his Dad used to be a good photographer, and on Sundays he used to take photo's of all the Ovambos. They loved their photo's taken, and would always proudly pose, looking very immaculate in their best suits. I guess they would then send these photo's back to Ovamboland to their loved ones. There was always a constant flow of candidates. His Dad was very into crayfishing, and I recall a few trips I was taken along. I have a vivid memory of him filling his wetsuit with Johnson's baby powder and then squeezing himself into it. I can't remember Gilbert being on any of the trips ....... He was probably playing soccer. LOL. He used to have cousins that also lived in O/mund ...... On the corner of 13th ave I think. One of them was called Marcel ?
I shall do that, gotta twist his arm to sign up here..... He's flying on Monday to the De Beers Marine boats for a week......
