Title: Billy the Bully
Post by: JohanB on August 16, 2007, 06:59:49 AM
Billy was in St 5 in '88, or there-abouts.

I've been looking for him for years. He was the biggest bully in my entire life, and the entire OPS, and I've got a score to settle with him  ;)

I know he had an older sister. That's about it.

Anybody knows where Billy the Bully is nowadays, or what his surname is? I'll know it if I heard it.

Could be Lineker, he was in STD 5 with me in 85.... his sister, Susan, is also somewhere on the site...

I was St 5 in 87, and this particular Bille finished after me, so the '85 Billy is out. The Billy I'm looking for was either 88, or 89. He had spikey blond hair, and slightly crooked teeth. And he was never, ever alone. I do not remember seeing him alone even once.

Man, he used to beat the crap out of me! Us boertjie knew of all the soutie kids, but we never really mixed. Funny, that.

I remember alot of the people mentioned here, but I don't really KNOW any of them. Old Billy here must be one of the very few bad memories I have of Oranjemund. That, and my dad's best friend getting stabbed and killed by a teenage boy one school holiday, right in the middle of town, in his own house.

Who remembers that?

I rememeber Billy and Steven, will never forget the time Steven and Billy lit a fire next to there house under the trees. Namdeb was always watering the trees. At this incident they pored something into the water and hay presto flames. Steven and Billy ran like hell and left me there. When they came back I was still trying to kill the fire.

Yes. Should move on. You were only kids.
Just imagine everybody trying to settle things of their childhood that way. This world would be at war more than ever...

Cherry, doing well at the moment, just moved to Swakop and loving every minute of it...
Title: Re: Billy the Bully

2 sides of a coin i guess: the world is the way it is because people don't move on, OR the world is the way it is because of people like this punk bully...

So which is it?

a couple of years ago I confronted a guy who bullied me at school, and the satisfaction of seeing him shrink in shame was enough for me to move on.

i only want to give old billy the bully the same opportunity. Is that so wrong?
Title: Re: Billy the Bully
Post by: georg ruf jr. on June 06, 2008, 05:31:21 AM
Give him an oppertunety to shrink?
I understand your feelings. I remember many bullies in my past too. I'm sure everybody has a story to tell.
I just believe, that you will "grow" up better by accepting your past as it is. There's no excuse for abuse, no doubt. But you're talking about your own feelings. You want to feel better. You'll learn to feel better if you learn to accept.
If you've reached that point, nobody will bullie you anymore.
I don't know how old you are. So maybe you're still very young and things are still to fresh...
Title: Re: Billy the Bully
Post by: JohanB on June 07, 2008, 04:12:07 AM
Oh, don't worry: nobody bullies me anymore.

I was an easy target because I was a skinny little kid, perfect for picking on. A random beating now and then doesn't bother me, but I saw this Billy throw a cock-eyed girl's thick glasses out of a moving schoolbus just for the fun of it. I saw her panic, cry and struggle to get past him to stop the bus. Even as a small kid I was feeling sorry for her. I saw him beat other small kids into tears. Many times. For what? Why? How do you think those kids felt? This Billy and his pack-dogs were out LOOKING for kids to bully, every day. I found him killing seagull chicks with his bare hands at the yacht club, throwing them onto the cement in laughter, watching them die slow deaths. I saw him beat a friend of mine WITH A STICK that left blue hales on his legs, just for fun.

Don't for a second think this is just about me. Being bullied at a young age, and surviving it makes the saying true: what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.

I don't need physical revenge to 'make myself a better person'. I'm well past that stage.

So no, I guess I will always feel this way until I have the opportunity to tell this bully to his face what he did to those little kids, and how it felt.

And if he doesn't admit and repent, well, then I guess I can't say what will happen.

To all who has such a lot of advice about moving on, go out into the world and find a kid that is suffering at the hands of a bully, and go and tell him your advice. Go and tell him to 'move on', to 'accept his fate', and see if you can explain to him how it will make him 'a better person'.

I'll only accept advice from someone who was bullied at a young age, thank you. I am not a bitter person, contrary to what people might believe. When I was bigger, I used to get in fights and then realize that I was actually being a bully. I'd apologize, or take a beating as punishment. Being bullied has thought me how to distinguish between a fight, and being a bully.

Who here can say Billy the Bully does not deserve a chance to explain himself?

I agree Johan, the only way to stop a bully is to stand up to him. We had a couple in Centaurus during my time there, and found the best method was to break them down psychologically. I remember the one guy broke down in tears one day in class. After some councelling he sorted himself out and actually became a good friend.

Title: Re: Billy the Bully
Post by: georg ruf jr. on June 07, 2008, 11:52:14 AM
Standing up to a bully is always important and the only way. Of course. It's just how to do.
To me there's a difference between he situation a kid is in, or if it's something I'm looking back on in my childhood. In that case I must see that I've matured. And there are more possebilities of coping with my past.
I'm sure, if you take on this guy today and he hasn't learned you're going to be mentaly stronger than him. The rest will come without great effort. If people do not learn how o behave in society, they'll always land up next to society. Isn't that revenge enough?
Now imagine you get a cold because it was raing. Are you going to complain about the rain for the rest of your life? No. You'll be wearing the protection you need and you'll feel better. That's the atitude I mean.
By the way. I menioned in an earlier post, we've all our story to tell. Carl made the first move. I was bullied enough in my life too. I've learnt to protect myself and try to accept my past as my past. Most people I've met in life I'll never see again.
Again Johann. How old are you?

Title: Re: Billy the Bully
Post by: Susan Kintscher (Lineker) on June 07, 2008, 06:45:11 PM
the Billy that Johan B is refering to is not my brother, he was in std 5 in 1985....
Billy did fall off a round about in the grade 1 area and had to be hospitalized for two year, yes it is correct, two years.
He then had to teach himself to walk again and he moved around alot on a skateboard.
JohanB how old are you ? so that we can find your billy, Was it not Billy Cowley????
Title: Re: Billy the Bully
Post by: JohanB on June 08, 2008, 04:42:09 AM
I think I mentioned in one of the first posts I was in St 5 in '87, so that'll make me... just let me get all the fingers and toes out, almost 34. (I don't know if other guys are like this too, but if someone surprises me with the question of 'how old are you' then I swear I have to back-calculate to my birth year!)

I get the feeling someone is going to say 'you're still young, your youthful anger shows' or 'you're too old to be caring about childhood bullies' and so on, but in a way, I feel oblidged to stand up for the young boy (that being the young me) of years gone by.

If I had bumped into this bully long ago, believe me, this matter would have been settled, but when I left O'mund, incidentially in '87, it was the last time I ever saw him.

So it's not a life-long grudge I hold, it's just that to this day I never had the opportunity to see for myself if this Billy had come to his senses in the meantime, or if he is still the childhood bully today. If it's the latter, I'll gladly tell him what I think of him, and then I can only hope he'll take a swing...

I got smacked by the cowley kid, blonde hair guy.... His nickname was "chickens"... outside the youth CLub it was.... and to this day I still do not know why..... he just walked up to me and threw a punch.... was'nt even talking to him or about him.... actually did'nt even know the guy..... I think his name was Billy?

Can't remember any other Billy's other than Billy Lineker and my brother Bill; neither of them fit the age (Std 5 year) so it's still an open question for you Johan.  Don't remember the Cowley guy you've all mentioned but a possibility.

@Diana: Face o face is just perfect. My problem is revenge. Something I've mentioned in several topics before. Zimbabwe, Rape in OM ect.
@Carl Thanks hey, I'm trying hard lol.  laughpoint But serious. I've picked up a lot to thze past and learning additionaly. Someimes I catch myself thinking in English. Somehing I stopped so many years ago. At times I even starting writing in "English" when I'm supposed to be writing in German haha.

Okay, I'm of the topic.

why wasnt i bullied,it makes you wonder why certain kids were bullied and others were not.i allways had friends and when together ,the soutie kids in my group and the boere kids ,we all got along.dont get me wrong,we had our differences but we did not single kids out for special treatment[bullying]i remember an occasion when florries brother ,billy[not the bully]1970,was being picked on at school ,the kid/bully in question will remain nameless, gloss paint a plenty was poured over him in the alleyway in 6th or 7th ave after sports practice,he didnt come to school for a week,we were told he had a cold, cold comfort to us.how .to this day,i hate bullys.put your selves into their shoes/minds.does not bear thinking about,.stopping now,i am getting myself wound up,laters

In total agreement Bobby  .. Bullies..  somewhere  in the site i posted about a defining moment  .. kind of changed me .. .. you  had individual bullying and crowd bullying .. It would hurt me to see some poor soul  .. and now my memory takes me back  .. in the school grounds there was a huge palm tree .. I recall some poor  girl .. cowering with her back to the palm tree  and this  crowd standing in front of her teasing taunting and calling her all sort of names .. she was sobbing  and   asking them to just leave her alone .. the more she did  the  more they taunted ..  crowd cowardice  with more cowardly  bully instigators   fanning the  flames .. .. i shunned it .. for that you also became a target  at times ..  a price to pay but yes better in the long term ..  i recall   that  i would write  an  encouraging note   to some of these victims  , just saying that i am  a " secret friend ' and that i could see their pain   and that  what  people were saying about them was untrue  and  that  they should  just hold  their heads up  high and try to ignore  what  was  happening ..

every one to their own,you wrote a nice note,i deliverd the same they did, when delivered ,i said, how does that feel, does that make me as bad as them, alls i wanted to do was to make them feel the same as the victim,if truth be known ,i felt terrible afterwards, then felt great becoase the victim wasnt picked on again, this has been my mind set all through life

I so know how you feel Johan....i was bulled in O/M by a young lad there....the brother of my bestfriend......for some reason that boy absolutly hated me....wanted to kill me and often had his hands round my neck....i was terrified of him.....i had never done anything wrong to him..........one day when walking to the pool with my friend and my mum.....he came riding on his bike along side of us a with a gang of his friends.......he ordered his sister to go home.......she argued she wasnt going home ......my mum then told him she was taking us swimming....and he slapped her straight across her face.....we were horrified.........i ran straight home to tell my dad...however...mum stopped me saying....your dad will want to go and kill him for doing that.....and he'll get the sack and go to prison....so i had to promise never to tell my dad.....which i never have to this day......when i found my best friend again after 41 years....one fo the first things i asked her was......where is your brother......i SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO wanted to talk to him....not with any intension of revenge....but just to ask him as an adult why he had so much anger towards me.......unfotunatly he had died so i will never get to ask that question........theres other people from my past i would love to meet again and slap....but he wasnt one of them...i just wanted an answer.......

Strangly enough i went to see a clairvoyeant (crap speller), she told me she was talking to my mum...told me her name and lots of other stuff to convince me it was all real stuff.........and she also asked me.....who is *****...at the time i said i didnt know...it wasnt till afterwards  i realized oh of course i know someone of that name........it was my mum lettin me know it was her as this was a secret me and her shared.......at the time........   ( does that make sense...lol...i know what i mean anyway ol )

Title: Re: Billy the Bully
Post by: SandyB on June 16, 2008, 05:33:30 PM
If one puts it in the context of the name mentioned , then yes accept  it as  the " secret ' and a way of letting you know ..   some clairvoyants are very clever  and intuitive mind readers and prompters  and will pull info out of  you without you even realising it .. so one has to be careful .. I always  say that if they tell you what you did not expect  to  hear or not  necessarily  what  you wanted to hear then  they pretty much on track ..

People do it for afiirmation / confirmation / whatever .. we all at a time in our lives ( and dont say otherwise ) will do it .. sad thing there are a lot of good intuitive  and veryn in touch people out there . but its the finding of them ...  and yes if tpeople spend the money on a good  or bad experience then so be it ..  they took the chance .. for those that rip the people off their moment will come  where they find themselves in the same or similar space ... and ..well  again the worldis round and what goes around comes around .. Hallo daar in RSA
Onthou ek was maar in st 4 daardie tyd .
Ons het hulle die "Ventertjies " genoem . Hulle was so in sy agterent gekruip  As hy vinnig gaan staan het was hulle almal in sy agterent in op . [ Venter sleepwaentjies ]
Tien teen een is Billy besig om sy eie boelies [kinders – meisies en seuns] groot te maak . want dit is dinge wat oorgedra word aan die volgende generasie . daar is goeie navorsing oor die verskynsel gedoen .
Liefde

Billy Alcock did not have 1 sister but 4.   Should you wish to find out if you have the correct person you can contact his sister Cherry Burchell who is active on this forum.

It would not be Billy Alcock as we were in high school together and 1986 we would have been out of school for 10yrs already, besides the Billy I knew,Cherry"s brother was a gentleman and wouldnt hurt a fly.By the way where is Billy now, Cherry??

Thank you Chris and Diana for defending my boet's honour.  Bill has always been  ha haand continues to be an absolute gentleman - if anyone bullied anyone, it would have been me beating up on him!   thumper

Chris, Bill is a gentleman farmer and outstanding house executive on his smallholding near Malmesbury these days - smart boy sends his partner, Shelley to bring home the bucks from her business. He bakes the best rusks! Sigh ... in my dreams!
