I have just got off the phone with Verona tonight ,, this weekend while chatting She was battling to get a flight to Jo'burg to see her mother ,, Sadly Auntie Dalena as we knew her passed away yesterday ... I got the SMS today ... she has asked me to post the news on the site ... Auntie Dalena too was one of those larger than life people that I and I am sure many of my time remember as kids .. the open house .. the stunning homemade ice cream and other treats she assembled for us kids .. playing rough and tumble with us as kids.. warm and understanding of teenage difficulties ... again open house policy .. In her heyday a great golfer ..
Verona will catch up when she gets the chance ..In the meantime lets salute what I remember as an attractive and good woman , mother , aunt , friend to many , and wish her soul safe travel on the next journey ..
To Verona , Denise and rest of family , we all thinking of you ...
Sincere condolences to Denise and the family. Our thoughts are with you.

That's why we need members like you and Michele to bring in the new generation of little Oranjemunders.

Shame, this poor baby is going to be born in the middle of the next Great Depression!
Mmmh! Baby Names like Depro Alexander, Repossessed Alexander or Repo ALexander, Penny(less) Alexander....
baby
Methinks Aunty Dalene would be having a good chuckle now seeing everybody veering away from her demise .. to humour .. to a new arrival that signifies renewal .. baby
And here I was worrying that Dalene would be thinking that we have no respect! It still amazes me how any topic seems to end up in a laugh - good old O'mund sense of humour I guess!

I'm sad to hear that Verona & Denise have lost their Mom. Sandyb please pass on my condolences.
Lost a friend of mine yesterday in a car accident - one of SA's wonderful jazz musos - Alex van Heerden - only 34 - very tragic.
Mmm Georg Jnr getting philosophical .. must be rubbing off .. Cherry read about Alex this evening.. and from your posting on Malcolms friend guessed it must have been him ...
