As mentioned earlier .. I was going to a late afternoon recital .. Opera in Convent Garden ,,, Springfield Convent in Wynberg ... a totally beautiful setting for winding down a good sunday ... the basket packed ... wraps with fillings cut into bite size ... two bottles of Borealis Bubbly .. a magic carpet to sit on .. ( I'm lying the magic carpet is a cheepie I got from OK furniture .. due to be cut up to line the stairs ,, but hell it looks the part ?? my only other choices where rugs costing g's and it would break my heart to cut up something that somebody spent hours weaving .) We had a wonderful time .. there was the Cape town caledonian pipe band starting off .. brought tears to the eyes of this scots boy .. bagpipes always do it ... they then .. piped in the performers ... and it started .. total bliss .. good music ... nice atmosphere .. skin crawling at times from emotion ... and we made some wayward friends .. these two old ducks each time i turned around grinning ... afterwards took it easy letting the mad leaving crowd depart .. anyhow there was still bubbly left over ... it ended up with more wine being bought from a stall and more chatting ... the two ducks will be visiting ( or so they say .. but what the hell if they dont .. ) two sisters one visiting from Canada .. the other a "local ".. by the way they Irish ... Oops .. party girls .. after all the goodbyes ..we proceeded to the chapel where Johns memorial service was held .. a totally peacefull setting .. we two just sat there chatting a while ... picked some lavender from the garden .. it will be put all over the home .. just in memory ... for Diana ther are pics of the garden area .... Here the pics .. one of Paul on the cheep flying rug as well

Truly so Diana .. a stunning beautiful and peaceful setting ,, good for the soul ..
Wow, what a beautiful scenery. When you live in a place like Dubai you really miss that kind of vegetation.
I went to Springfield convent once, back in the old days.... for a mass or something, I remember a bunch of nuns being there, that had taken a vow of Silence..... Gee! Diana, it should have rubbed off on you.....
love(1) you too Michael.
You've just brought another memory back, yes the nuns of silence, the Carmalite Sisters. They did my wedding invitations, only the mother superior was allowed to talk and we spoke to her through a little hatch thing about the invites. They lived over the back road by the church. The new primary school was built next to them, wasn't there in my day, just beautiful fields where we'd walk. We'd also walk up through the field and chat up the army guys through the fence of Wynberg camp which backed onto it.
I remember Cherry was at Wynberg girls at the time.
