Title: Water Restrictions and the Lawns!
Post by: Michael Alexander on February 08, 2009, 10:47:09 AM
I heard from a person on the floor, who works for J&P ( Parks and Gardens) , that they were told to cut back on the irrigation of the parks and Gardens of Oranjemund...

I am not too sure what the reason for this is.... although I do know over the last few weeks, there have been problems with various aspects of water delivery in Oranjemund...

It would be a shame if the parks and lawns started to fade, as I always believed the green lawns of Oranjemund was one of it's strong selling points/....

Anyone else hear anything?

It would be a shame but it was bound to happen sooner or later.

Hello ?  .. theres a river  there ... so why a problem ??? although  yes we should not  take the river for granted .. all we need is a drought .. but then  its been raining in the  inland source ??/  me  I installed grey water  system .. all bath water  is  pumped up  to storage tanks and used  to feed the  toilet cystern .. a massive water saving ... and also a rain water harvesting system .. currently  about 1750 liters , but will be  adding  tanks to the one  cellar .. my aim is 10 000 liters .. that gets used in the garden ..
