Well, what a day it turned out to be.... the Gala was a roaring success... with RHODES coming first, Barnato second and Oppenheimer last.
It was also a memorable conclusion for teacher, Rosemary Muller (nee' Van Rensburg), as this was her last OPS gala and after 27 years of service at OPS, will be heading off to Somerset West for retirement......
As some of you by now know, I got to swim in the fun race at the end, with three other dad's, against the grade 8's and two teacher teams.... the grade 8's won, just by a whisker or two, with the teachers way way way way, did I mention way, way behind us.... Great fun....
Congratulations Rhodes. I bet you weren't very far ahead of the brilliant Barnato's? congrats
Great Gala .. .. now the pity with the reunion .. short time ,, hectic socialisiing and yes did not catch up on all the faces Rosemary .. Steve .. and now they all leaving .. Oh well another drive up soon .. will try drag Ronnie up with me this time ...

Exactly, the RHODES are the best
The best part was the dads in their speedo's Oh what a sight. But Mike had to wear his long shorts (what was he hiding?) Michelle was jumping up and down she nearly had the baby next to the pool, but he did the the anchor in the relay! he swam the crawl length and got overtaken by a twelve year old! Thought we had to call the paramedics and the ambulance he was so out of breath..... must be the bloody white horse coming home to roam again affe-red image201
Oi! You, were you not meant to be supporting us older people?
Puffing and Panting I was not..... and as for the blerrie legless horse in my garden...

Thanks for the update Shannon. I demand a recount. Was it the Maths teacher who kept score? I'm sure Barnato actually had 541.
