Title: Renting a house in Oranjemund!
Post by: Michael Alexander on February 25, 2009, 11:30:13 AM
So , as the town empties out, OTMCO have awoken to the fact that they can garnish some income from renting out the empty houses.

Now, the problem arises, that you cannot just go and find an empty house, apply for that particular house, pay your rent money and move in...

No! No! No! ...once again the narrow minded officials at OTMCO, on a powered up ego trip, will allocate you a house..... you have to tell them how many kids you have, give them your marriage certificate... to prove that you are indeed married.... then the ego tripping official, will decide for you which empty structure you may move into......

If you do not like that initial house, have no fear, the ego maniac, will allocate you a second house, and if you do not want that structure.....your name is promptly removed from the list...

Bugger you, even if you can afford to move into a bigger house, even if you want to pay more money to rent an empty building .....these plebs won't let you.... they would rather have the building standing empty than garnish more dosh for OTMCO.....

Now, they might say, well you cannot have that particular building, coz it has yet to be maintained...... but I have heard of private individuals who are willing to move  into house abc, and pay to maintain the building..

Now can somebody please explain to us , private willing to pay individuals, why a person cannot go to OTMCO, say... I see house abc is vacant, I would like to rent it, how much is the rent per month? WHere do I sign... and here is a months payment in advance... WITHOUT little people , who think they know business, going on a friggin ego trip.... and trying to tell you where you should rent....

If they were running a rental agency in the big bad world... they would be bankrupt... these little people, who I have always claimed.... have never had the right to call themselves Oranjemunders....... are just here for a pay pkt......

I wish somebody higher up the ranks, who understands this, would phone the little people at OTMCO and tell them..., "You, my son are costing us  money, just rent the friggin house out, does it really matter which one.....!"

As, the little man sits behind his desk, another tree falls over........in a once lush garden..... Mr.Private could have saved it..... but Little man was far too busy playing with his red tape...

JUST MY 2 CENTS!

Doesn't make sense at all.  Must be a case of displaced power-trips.  Sad, would have expected the people involved to have some degree of intelligence.  Mike, if they don't see your point or listen to your suggestions, they don't deserve to be in the jobs they are.  Pathetic.
It simply doesn't make any sense - they're fools, and the future Oranjemund doesn't need simple-minded morons with only self-gain and own satisfaction in mind.
I simply HATE situations like this where the RIGHT thing is so obvious, but the people making the decisions are too stupid to see it.

PLEASE WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE, OTMCO!

What, have the men in white already taken over our little town? What's this about having to be married to be able to live there? We're in 2009 bloody hell  image061

Hi all

I agree with Mike Stenson: The more things change the more they stay the same.

Those feeble-minded people with the teeny brains that occupy a job with a perceived sense of power dont really have a clue.  I must meet dozens of them each week.   They dont really care that they could be costing the company/government/town zillions of dollars.  They are also unbelievably incompetent.

As I mentioned in my book, there is a sense of: "Will somebody please wake me up from this nightmare.  It cant be real".

But that is the brave new worlds we are living in now.  That is now the way it is, even here in Australia.

Why does OTM Co not sell the houses on the buy back option to the current residents? OTM Co will save the maintance and other costs. We can pay OTM Co, as we can not get a loan from any bank. They can still charge a fee like the private people pay who build their own houses in town. We have a lot of bachelors in town who can afford to buy a house, but because they choose not to be married they must stay in a flat. Oranjemund the moral capital of the world? Ya right.... ask me. Even thouse who make the decisions can not keep their pants up....

Visitors to Oranjemund told me that some contractors move house from Rosh Pinah to Oranjemund. So we have a few new people in town, not working for Namdeb. I do not if this is true but anyway: Welcome to all of them.

Went to buy some braaiwood this morning at Flip the Woodpecker down on first avenue, drove along the empty houses..... Flip, made the familiar comment, when are the mione going to allow people to buy the empty houses, his family, who are farmers in the interior of Namibia have expressed interest in buying houses in Oranjemund.......

Yet, the assets continue to lose value to the harsh desert elements..... kinda like Nero playing his fiddle whilst Rome was burning......

Can't buy house without proclimation.
Proclimation needs government approval.
Rosh Pinah still going down that road 8 years long.
Still in diamond area which = security permits which = government.
Which = proclimation which =  idontknow
Also would love to buy here, but can't at present due to above.
Just a thought or two.
