Someone asked about the 1 plant mechanical forman. In the early 70's. I couldn't recall his last name but have been reminded by a friend who worked at CDM. When i got to 1 plant, Jerry Howsen was forman and his successor was Jan Nieuwoudt who came from No 4 Plant. Of course I remember now.... The Head honcho was John Mac (on the forum somewhere) and when he left, Ronnie Potgieter took his place. There is a photo of both somewhere on the site.
@ John
Yes that was my time in 1 plant
Dit´nt you do a survey on the water supply lines those days ????
Jerry came to 3 Plant about 76
I remember that. It was the 11 kv line. Spent a week on it and it got lost. Have a photo of Gordon Easton standing on a Land Rover very close to the lines. Good memory George. I have to walk around whispering "its Tuesday today. Its Tues..."

But i know of no 11 KV, only remember 60 KV, 30 KV and 6.6 KV down to 520 V and the lower stuff
Hear the wispers its Tuesday I-T-O
Hi
When I got to 1 plant in 1968, I'm pretty sure that Faas Jacobs was mechanical forman.
Selwyn Lange was plant sup in the late 60s, then Dave Lunt, who now lives in Perth (I will be seeing him in 2 weeks time). John Mack took over around 1971 or so.
