Title: Namdeb's Auction
Post by: Riaan Smit on April 09, 2009, 08:48:59 AM
I am one of the suckers of the recent Auction of Namdeb. March 11, 2009. I e-mailed the goods to people all over. One of the persons replied and asked me to bid on a Isuzu D/C 4x4 2006 Model. There was naturally a limit to were I could buy. Very chuffed with myself I got the bid. I had to aranged transport from Luderitz to Oranjemund and then to the final destination. The Saturday I received the Izusu with the registration papers. It is a 2003 model!!!!! When a bussines sell something to Namdeb and you do not deliver as promised you will be charged with fraud. I took the matter to  the manager of the Mine store. His reply: the registration number I have given is not the same. Duh...,  the engin number and VIN number is the same. The vehicle had two registration numbers one in Luderitz and one in Oranjemund. Now this is what I call effective management. Be carefull with you next purchass from Namdeb, the diamonds might have an expiry date on them  trex-073 Now I  worry, Namdeb's and OTM Co is going to bite me.

Hey there, don't think that "they have an answer for every thing" is that fair. If you read the conditions of the sale, is says voetstoets, and voetstoets is exactly that. It is up the buyer to carefully read the conditons of sale and mistakes can happen and at least Eric James replied to Riaan. Most Auction places would have just said go away. At least Riaan has the vehicle way below the price that the other guys originally paid for it and he got a great bargain.

The reaction of certain emplyees of Namdeb are the same as yours. No other Auction House / bussiness will chase you away like dog. I wonder what would have happend if it was someone else working for Namdeb in the higher bands. I never questioned the voetstoots. Eric James was not at fault, he took the blame.
