The Swine Flu Pandemic is....
Indeed worrying ... a mix of swine flu and avian flu all crossed in with human flu bug ... only good thing is .. despite our increased travel via air etc .. the death tolls are far lower than many years ago thanks to medical advances and care .. problem is these bugs just seem to get worse each time in response to mans intervention .. ?? Mmmm mother nature taking a swipe back at us arrogant humans ??
Genetic modification of crops --> human food changes --> our immune system has to change and adjust to these foreign substances --> humans more susceptible --> DISEASE!
Radiation of food --> mutations of bacteria and viruses --> normal harmless bacteria become pathogens --> DISEASE!
Pollution --> normal biologic control and balance in environment disturbed --> pathogen overgrowth --> fight this with chemicals (more pollution) --> DISEASE!
Only 3 methods we humans use daily to dig our own graves. We shouldn't complain about a new bug, we probably created it ourselves!
I agree Sandy - Mother Nature's probably showing us she's unhappy. Will we listen?
Has arrived in Germany, SA better cancel all flights for german visitors.....
No its not that bad yet, but they keep a close eye on the development
Fast travel means fast spreading, no porc tonight ?????

Flu May Be Less Potent Than First Feared
Swine flu now appears less dangerous than feared; virus not spreading far in hard-hit areas
The swine flu outbreak that has alarmed the world for a week now appears less ominous, with the virus showing little staying power in the hardest-hit cities and scientists suggesting it lacks the genetic fortitude of past killer bugs.
I'll "tick" the both of you.........aaaaaachoooooooo!!!!!! msn emoticon (224)
Now the two of you have been turned into swine!!!!!

The news media has been saturated about swine flu for the past month........it's as though nothing else is going on in the world!! Lots of people die from flu every year in winter but nothing's said about that!! What will the uk do if we get a really evil virus.....they have really gone over the top with the scaremongering!!and now they've found that the tamiflu tablets can have bad side effects dor children...makes you think hey? sobored
Agreee Pam, I have had a 50% work force off because of it...they are calling the doctor giving them symptoms and they are given the tamiflu tablets...and then sending in a sick note for 5 days...do they all really have it..i do not know..but the doctors are not taking any chances..
I personally think they have gone too far...
In the Noseweek .. swine flu not so strong ... it should actually be called piglet flu ... granted the media hype ... but yes any new strain of flu in most healthy folk can be pretty readily handled especially with the medical intervention we have nowadays .. even though it is a new threat to the immune system ,, problem is people with underlying health problems or stressed immune systems are the ones that end up dying if they contract it ,, and that seems to be the general thing happening ,, but then again each case each new immune system challeneged can strenghten the virus and it can and will mutate .. so whether we like it or not containment is the best remedy ... whether we like it or not the dreaded flu virus will continue to mutate its goal to take lives .. so we should be careful ... as I have said before .. I would avoid air travel so long as its around ...
This was sent .........is a little worried. 2007 Chinese year of the Chicken - bird flu; 2008 Horse - Australia got equine flu; 2009 Pig - swine flu. 2010? It's the year of the Cock

I read an article in the Time magazine a few years back on the emergence of the superbugs. In the article it was mentioned that due to indiscriminate deforestation and the melting of the polar ice caps due to global warming, ancient viruses are being released to which humans have no immunity.........the Amazon jungle alone is said to contain a cure for every disease known to man, yet we are destroying it at such a rate, Mother Nature's pharmacy with all it's healing medicines are being destroyed along with it. It is said that we are destroying roughly 3000 species/day in the Amazon.....in that figure of 3000 are species not even discovered yet!!
Sandy, you mentioned mother nature's revenge...........i agree.........it's her way of saying "take heed at what you're doing to your home planet, again, what you give out is what you get back - destruction". She is merely operating according to Universal karmic laws.........humans are their own worst enemies.........due to our destruction of the planet with the bottom line always being money without any concern for the consequences, we are killing ourselves.......then we cry, WHY, HOW in absolute horror when it happens......we can learn so much from mother nature if we would only stop and take the time to listen to her. Is it any wonder she's getting ready for that huge shrug in 2012!
Reminds me of a wise Cree Indian Prophecy:
'After all the trees have been cut down,
After all the animals have been hunted,
After all the waters are polluted,
After all the air is unsafe to breathe,
only then will Man discover that money cannot be eaten"
Cree Prophecy
