Title: Does Anyone Remember Us?
Post by: Chummy & Barbara Pretorius on May 06, 2009, 10:50:32 AM
Hi3 A big hello to all who remember us.  Those were the days!

Arrived in Oranjemund in 1962 and left in 1975 with a three year gap from 1965 - 1967.  Our first address was 13 Outer Crescent. Our neighbours were Tony & Maureen Kemp, Floris Nel & family. Second time around it was 37 - 11th Avenue.

Our first friends were Neil & Faith van Eeden, who lived in 7th Avenue, Peet & Marlene (nee De Lange) Bezuidenhout, Giel & Margaret van Wyk, Eddie & anna van Niekerk.

Chummy was a fitter at Central Fields and later at Uubvley then Planning Foreman.

I worked at the Cinema as cashier and later as assistant to the Financial Sectretary Chris Conyers.

Our eldest daughter Denise was born in the Oranjemund hospital in 1963 and attended OPS till Std 5 in 1975. Our younger daughter Lorna also attended OPS to Std 1 until 1975.

We were actively involved in the Yacht Club (motor boats) and the Squash Club. Many happy memories of weekends spent at the Pink Pan.

We now reside in Freeway Park in Boksburg - Gauteng.

Hi to a well known name.  Leila (Austin - folks were Norman and Doreen) was at the school same time as your children.  Recognise some of your friends - Eddie, Bezuidenhouts, (where is Joey Leila wants to know).  I was an appy with Ronny de Lange.  A great guy.  Enjoy the great site!!

Welcome on board Barbara.
Just check the search option in the menu and give in some names. I'm sure you'll find stories of the people you seek and maybe you'll even find some of them on the site to get in contact with.
